Ingredients (Mango Kalakand Recipe)

  • Ripe mango - 1 cup (pulp)
  • Mawa / Khoya - 1 cup (grated)
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios) - for garnishing

First of all, peel the ripe mango and take out its pulp and put it in the mixer and make a smooth puree.

Heat some ghee in a non-stick pan. Add mawa and fry lightly. Now add mango puree and mix well.

Now add milk and sugar. Cook the mixture on medium flame while stirring continuously until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.

When the mixture becomes solid, add cardamom powder and mix well.

Apply ghee on a plate or tray and grease it and spread the prepared mixture in it. Add chopped nuts on top and press lightly.

Keep Kalakand in the fridge for 1-2 hours so that it sets well.

Now cut it in desired shape and serve.

Some important points

If you want, you can also use paneer instead of mawa.

You can increase or decrease the amount of sugar according to the sweetness of mango.
