A deeply disturbing CCTV video has gone viral from Durg district in Chhattisgarh, showing a police constable striking a man with the butt of his rifle and grabbing him by the collar near Power House Railway Station. The victim, Nagesh Sahu, is the younger brother of Anand Sahu — District Vice President of BJP Kisan Morcha Rajnandgaon and a member of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Sahu Sangh's state executive body. The BJP leader has accused the police of hooliganism and announced plans to meet the Superintendent of Police to demand strict action.

What the CCTV Video Shows

The incident took place on the night of March 12 near Power House Railway Station in the Chhavni police station area. Nagesh Sahu had travelled to Bhilai for a business matter — he was attempting to recover an advance payment from a former employee of his family's dhaba in Rajnandgaon, who was working in the Power House area.

Nagesh was standing outside the railway station with a few companions when two constables from Chhavni police station — identified as Rakesh Chaudhary and Lav Pandey — arrived at the spot and began dispersing people gathered in the area. Most of those present fled on seeing the police. Nagesh and his companions, however, stood their ground as they had done nothing wrong.

This apparently angered Constable Rakesh Chaudhary. The CCTV footage clearly captures him flipping his rifle and striking Nagesh with the gun butt. He then grabbed Nagesh by the collar and shoved him backwards. Moments later, the same constables were seen shaking hands with other people nearby — a contrast that has further fuelled public outrage over the footage.

BJP Leader Accuses Police of Being Drunk on Duty

Anand Sahu, Nagesh's elder brother and a senior BJP functionary, has accused the two constables of being in an inebriated state at the time of the incident. He claimed that his brother had told him the constables' shirt buttons were undone — suggesting they were not in a proper state of duty.

"My brother had committed no crime. He had no reason to run. The police are meant to protect ordinary citizens, not assault them without cause," Anand Sahu said, demanding accountability from the police department.

He confirmed that Nagesh had gone to Bhilai solely to recover money owed by a former dhaba worker and was standing peacefully outside the station when the unprovoked attack occurred.

Constables Were Posted Elsewhere That Night

A significant detail has emerged regarding the conduct of the two constables. On the night of the incident, both Rakesh Chaudhary and Lav Pandey had been assigned duty at the Sarafa Bazaar in the Power House area — not at the railway station where the assault took place.

Under standard police duty regulations, a constable must remain at their designated post. Moving to a different area without orders and taking independent action there is a clear violation of protocol. Despite this, the two constables left their assigned post, proceeded to the railway station, and began dispersing people on their own initiative — ultimately leading to the assault on Nagesh Sahu.

No Official Police Response Yet

As of the time of publishing, no official statement has been issued by Durg police regarding the incident. No FIR or formal complaint has been filed yet, though Anand Sahu has made clear he intends to pursue the matter directly with the district Superintendent of Police. The CCTV footage is currently in circulation across social media platforms and has drawn widespread condemnation from political circles and the general public alike.

A shocking road rage assault has been caught on camera in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, after a young man followed a gas delivery boy all the way into an LPG office and attacked him with kicks and punches over a minor argument about road space. The accused, 23-year-old Rihan Khan, was filmed threatening staff and bystanders during the attack — boldly declaring that no one could do anything against him. The video has gone massively viral, and Rihan Khan has since been arrested and sent to judicial remand.

A Minor Road Argument Turns Into a Violent Assault

The incident began on the morning of March 11 at around 10:30 AM. Raja Agarwal, a delivery boy working at Priyadarshini HP Gas Office, was on his way to make home deliveries on Boirdadar Road near Durga Mandir in his auto-rickshaw. Near Subhash Chowk, a brief verbal exchange broke out between Raja and a bike rider over making way on the road — the kind of minor disagreement that happens daily on Indian streets.

Raja did not engage further and proceeded to his gas office to continue with his work. However, the bike rider refused to let the matter go. He followed Raja all the way to the office, entered the premises, and began complaining to the office staff about the delivery boy.

'Come Inside and I Will Show You' — Attack Inside the Office

As Raja walked into the office from inside, the bike rider spotted him and immediately snapped. He launched into a verbal tirade, abusing Raja in front of the office staff, and struck him hard across the face. When Raja pushed back and tried to defend himself, the two broke into a full physical brawl inside the office premises. Staff members intervened and managed to separate them.

But the confrontation was far from over. The attacker stepped back out briefly — only to barge back inside the office a second time, going after Raja again with kicks and punches. While assaulting the delivery boy in full view of everyone present, the accused turned to the staff and issued a brazen threat:

"File a complaint against me — my name is Rihan Khan. No one can do anything to me."

The entire sequence of events was recorded on the office's CCTV cameras and has since spread rapidly across social media platforms.

Police Act Swiftly, Accused Arrested From Home

Raja Agarwal filed a formal complaint at Chakradhar Nagar police station on March 12. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and tracked down the accused to his residence in Chhota Atarmuda, behind the District Panchayat office in Raigarh.

Rihan Khan, aged 23 and a resident of Chhota Atarmuda, was arrested from his home. During interrogation, he admitted to entering the gas office and assaulting the delivery boy. Police registered the case under non-bailable sections at Chakradhar Nagar police station. Rihan Khan has been sent to judicial remand and is currently lodged in jail.

Viral Video Sparks Public Outrage

The CCTV footage of the attack, particularly the moment Rihan Khan declares his name while threatening that no action can be taken against him, has triggered widespread public anger online. Many have pointed out that the arrogance displayed during the assault — the deliberate announcement of his name as a shield against accountability — reflects a growing culture of intimidation where ordinary working-class individuals like delivery boys become easy targets for those who believe connections or social standing can protect them from consequences.
