Natural Energy Hacks: Coconut Water and Millets Fight Summer Fatigue

Fight afternoon fatigue naturally. Coconut water and millet recipes boost energy without caffeine. Natural health hacks. May 18, 2026.

The post-lunch energy slump is hitting India harder this summer, with office productivity dropping by 35% between 2 PM and 4 PM, according to a new workplace study. But instead of reaching for a third cup of tea or an energy drink, wellness coaches are prescribing natural energy hacks using coconut water and millets.

Why Caffeine Fails

Caffeine provides a temporary spike followed by a crash. In summer, it also increases body heat and dehydration. “One coconut water gives you natural sugars, potassium, and magnesium—the exact minerals you lose through sweat,” explains sports nutritionist Riya Shah.

Ragi (Finger Millet) Smoothie

Mix sprouted ragi powder with raw mango and mint. Blend into a smoothie. Ragi releases energy slowly over 4 hours. It stabilizes blood sugar and prevents that 3 PM drowsiness.

The Lemon-Coconut Combo

Add fresh lemon juice and a pinch of Himalayan pink salt to tender coconut water. This creates a natural oral rehydration solution (ORS) that replenishes electrolytes faster than any packaged drink.

Millet Pulao for Lunch

Replace white rice with foxtail millet or little millet for lunch. White rice spikes insulin, causing sleepiness. Millets have a low glycemic index. They keep you alert without nervous energy.

Water Timing Hack

Drink 300 ml of room-temperature water every hour. Even mild dehydration drops energy levels by 20%. Set a reminder on your phone.

What Next

Corporate canteens in Gurugram are replacing soft drink vending machines with tender coconut water stalls. Try this at home: Keep a bottle of lemon-coconut water on your desk. Sip it instead of chai. You will notice sharper focus by day 3.

Three Masked Men Attack Family

Three masked assailants stormed the residence of a former block Congress vice-president in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district late Thursday night. The attackers shot dead the leader’s 19-year-old son and critically injured his younger sibling.

The incident occurred around 12:30 am in Karhi village under the Birra police station limits. Police said the assailants entered the house and opened fire indiscriminately. The victim, Ayush Kashyap, suffered bullet wounds to the head and chest and died on the spot. His 16-year-old brother Ashutosh remains critical.

Parents Locked In Separate Room

According to preliminary investigation, the three masked men first locked the parents inside a room. They then targeted the children sleeping in another room. Ayush, a second-year BA LLB student, was hit twice. Ashutosh, a Class 10 student, sustained a bullet injury on his shoulder.

Cash And iPhone Stolen

Police sources indicated that the attackers fled with around Rs 60 in cash and an iPhone. The family has three children. Their daughter Prerna Kashyap, a BPM officer posted in Jagdalpur, was also home on leave during the attack. She witnessed the shooting.

Sister Recounts Earlier Visit

Prerna told police that three young men had come to their house a week ago asking about Ayush. She added that all three attackers wore masks during Thursday night’s assault. The family said the assailants also took three mobile phones before escaping.

Father Alleges Sand Trade Rivalry

The victim’s father, Sammlal Kashyap, alleged that the murder stemmed from a sand mining business dispute. “Ayush had recently purchased a hyva truck and a JCB. He had become active in the trade. That is the only reason someone would want him dead,” Kashyap told police.

Local Congress leaders, including MLA Vyas Kashyap and Jaijaipur MLA Baleshwar Sahu, visited the crime scene late Thursday night.

Police Launch Massive Manhunt

Acting Superintendent of Police Nivedita Paul and Additional SP Umesh Kashyap reached the spot along with cyber and forensic teams. Officials confirmed that the attackers used motorcycles. Police have set up barricades across the town and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas.

“We are also analysing call detail records to identify the suspects,” an officer said. The body has been sent for post-mortem. The younger brother continues to receive treatment at the district hospital.

What Next

Authorities have formed multiple teams to track down the three masked assailants. Investigators are examining whether a recent land dispute or sand mining rivalry motivated the attack. Police expect to make arrests within 48 hours based on technical surveillance leads.

The 2019 Telugu thriller V1 Murder Case has re-emerged as a trending watch on OTT platforms, with audiences revisiting its gripping narrative and forensic-driven investigation. The film, now accessible on Amazon Prime Video and YouTube, is gaining traction among viewers seeking tightly packed suspense dramas comparable to Drishyam.

Rising OTT Popularity

According to viewer trends and platform data, V1 Murder Case has witnessed a steady rise in online searches and watchlists. The renewed interest comes amid a surge in demand for compact thriller films with strong narratives.

Industry observers note that the film’s runtime of under two hours makes it an accessible option for audiences looking for engaging yet concise storytelling. This trend aligns with broader consumption patterns in the OTT space, where shorter, high-impact films are gaining traction.

Plot and Premise

The story revolves around the murder of a young woman living with her partner. What initially appears to be a straightforward crime soon evolves into a complex investigation filled with unexpected developments.

As per reports, the narrative takes a dramatic turn when the primary suspect the victim’s boyfriend dies under mysterious circumstances. This twist shifts the investigation into uncharted territory, raising critical questions about the real perpetrator.

Forensic Investigation Angle

Unlike conventional crime dramas, the film places a forensic officer at the centre of the investigation. The protagonist, dealing with personal psychological challenges, relies heavily on scientific analysis and evidence-based reasoning.

Sources indicate that this approach has resonated with viewers who prefer logical storytelling over exaggerated action sequences. The film’s focus on forensic details adds a layer of authenticity, distinguishing it from mainstream crime thrillers.

Comparison With Drishyam

Audience discussions across digital platforms frequently compare V1 Murder Case with Drishyam, known for its intricate plot and suspenseful climax.

While Drishyam explored how an individual manipulates circumstances to evade the law, V1 Murder Case takes a different route by emphasising investigative depth and psychological complexity. Analysts suggest that the comparison stems from both films’ ability to keep viewers guessing until the final moments.

Audience Response Trends

Viewers have highlighted the film’s unpredictable climax as a key factor behind its growing popularity. Online reviews suggest that the narrative avoids conventional tropes, offering a more layered resolution.

According to available ratings data, the film holds a moderate yet stable score on major review platforms, indicating consistent audience appreciation over time. The absence of excessive commercial elements has also been cited as a strength.

Industry Context

The resurgence of V1 Murder Case reflects a broader shift in audience preferences towards content-driven cinema. With OTT platforms expanding their regional libraries, films that previously had limited theatrical reach are finding new life among digital audiences.

Experts believe that such trends are reshaping the Indian entertainment landscape, enabling regional films to gain national visibility without traditional marketing pushes.

What Lies Ahead

With continued interest in suspense and crime genres, films like V1 Murder Case are expected to remain relevant in the OTT ecosystem. Industry insiders indicate that similar content-driven projects may see increased production and distribution in the coming months.

He accused the Mamata Banerjee government of embezzling Rs 5,000 crore through multiple scams. Sources close to the BJP said the speeches aimed to fire up cadres before the first polling phase on April 23.

Rally Highlights

Shah addressed crowds in Mayureswar, Bolpur, and Birbhum districts. He warned TMC goons to stay home on polling day or face jail after May 5. "People of Bengal will reply to bombs with votes," he declared, pushing for a double-engine BJP government.

Scam Allegations

The minister listed teacher recruitment, cow smuggling, and ration scams as evidence of TMC graft. "BJP will make scamsters pay every penny," Shah asserted at Mayureswar. Reports indicated these charges resonate in rural Birbhum, hit by violence allegations.

Infiltrators Issue

Shah promised nationwide action against infiltrators, claiming Mamata opposes Election Commission lists. He linked this to border fencing delays, vowing land handover within 45 days of BJP victory. Officials noted heightened security concerns near Bangladesh borders.

Bose Joins TMC

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandson Chandra Kumar Bose quit BJP for TMC on Sunday. "BJP practices divisive politics and communal hatred," Bose said after induction by ministers Bratya Basu and MP Kirti Azad. He had lost 2016 assembly and 2019 Lok Sabha polls on BJP ticket.timesofindia.

Poll Background

West Bengal votes in two phases: April 23 and 29, with results on May 4 or 5. BJP eyes gains after 2021 setbacks, targeting TMC strongholds like Birbhum. Mamata countered, alleging BJP's Rs 1,000 crore plot to topple her regime.

Safety Concerns

Shah pledged no repeat of Sandeshkhali, RG Kar, or law college horrors under BJP rule. He slammed Mamata for riots in Murshidabad, Ram Navami attacks, and Saraswati Puja curbs. Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari echoed: women unsafe, jobs scarce.

Official Reactions

"TMC more dangerous than a poisonous snake," Mamata shot back.[query context] Congress MP Karti Chidambaram defended Tamil Nadu's Hindu credentials amid southern campaigns.[query context] BJP's Nitin Nabin roadshowed in Tamil Nadu, but Bengal dominated discourse.

Voter Impact

Charges of cut-money, syndicates, and infiltrators sway undecided voters in Birbhum's 11 seats. Public interest stories highlight women's safety and jobs as key issues. Analysts see BJP consolidating Hindu votes, TMC leaning on welfare schemes.

Path Ahead

Shah's three rallies signal aggressive BJP push till April 23. TMC banks on Bose's entry for nationalist appeal. Counting on May 5 could reshape national politics, with double-engine promises in focus. Latest news today from English news portal India tracks these government updates.

Bilaspur's Bajrang Panchayat Temple Symbolises Unity

Historic Justice Hub

Shri Bajrang Panchayat Temple in Bilaspur stands as a beacon of communal harmony. Locals invoked Hanumanji as witness for panchayats since British rule. Hindus and Muslims alike accepted its impartial verdicts, transcending religious divides.

Temple's Unique Role

The temple in Magarpara-Talapara area served justice alongside faith for over a century. Residents brought disputes here when courts seemed distant. Decisions carried final weight across communities.

British Era Origins

Authorities trace the tradition to the British Raj. Elders recount open-sky Hanumanji idol under which panchayats convened. Society leaders sat together, ensuring fair rulings under divine gaze.

Open-Air Beginnings

Om Prakash Patel, a local resident, shares that the site started modestly. No grand structure existed then—just the idol on bare ground. Panchayat heads and villagers gathered, swearing by Hanumanji's justice.

Cross-Faith Acceptance

Jogi Ram Patel notes all faiths participated freely. Hindus, Muslims, and Christians honoured the outcomes. City Kotwali police station existed, yet people preferred this trusted forum over formal channels.

Communal Harmony Prevails

Reports highlight the temple's bias-free ethos. Faith in Hanumanji's oversight guaranteed neutrality. This drew crowds from villages and city alike, fostering lasting unity.

Legacy Endures Today

The temple retains its name from these panchayats—justice fused with devotion. Modern visitors see it as a symbol of India's syncretic spirit. Officials preserve the site amid urban growth.

The Shri Bajrang Panchayat Temple embodies Bilaspur's shared heritage. Sources indicate renovations now protect its crumbling British-era features. Community events keep the justice flame alive.

Locals view it as a public interest story of timeless relevance. As per reports, youth groups discuss reviving informal dialogues here.

Public Impact Grows

Such sites strengthen social fabric in Chhattisgarh. They remind citizens of dialogue over discord. National and international news often spotlights these unity tales amid tensions.

Future Preservation Plans

Authorities eye heritage status for the temple. Local bodies plan awareness drives. Bajrang Panchayat Temple could inspire similar models elsewhere in India news update circles.

The frenzy surrounding Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge has spilled from cinema halls into school classrooms. An image of what appears to be an accounts examination paper, filled with references to characters from the Ranveer Singh-starrer, has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and amusement.

The question paper, shared on various platforms, features multiple accounting problems framed around the film’s characters. One section reportedly states, “Rehman died on 5th December 2025,” a direct reference to a character from the spy-action franchise. Other questions incorporate names such as Hamza Ali Mazari, Rehman Dakait, and Uzair Baloch, turning a traditionally dry subject into something far more engaging for students.

Teachers Turn to Pop Culture to Engage Students

The caption accompanying the viral post read, “Dhurandhar itni viral hai, Accounts wale sir bhi fan nikle (Dhurandhar is so viral, the accounts teacher is also a fan now).” While the authenticity and origin of the paper remain unconfirmed, the post has sparked a wave of reactions from social media users, many of whom praised the creative teaching approach.

One user commented, “The best kind of teacher… finds a way to make the subject interesting.” Another wrote, “Rehman dakait died on 5 December 2025 peak detailing by Aditya Dhar.” A third user noted, “SP Aslam retire to God peak detailing,” referring to another character from the film’s extended universe.

Social Media Applauds Innovative Pedagogy

Education professionals and netizens alike have weighed in on the unconventional method, with many appreciating the effort to connect classroom learning with popular culture. The viral image has sparked discussions on how cinema can be leveraged to make traditionally challenging subjects more relatable to students.

“Final result… Bachha he tu mera,” wrote another user in a lighthearted response, encapsulating the amused tone of much of the online reaction. The incident highlights the cultural footprint of the Dhurandhar franchise, which has now become a reference point extending far beyond entertainment.

Box Office Dominance Continues

Released on March 19, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has maintained a strong run at the box office. According to Sacnilk.com, the film crossed the ₹1000 crore mark worldwide within seven days of release. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has shown consistent momentum across both domestic and international markets.

The film features an ensemble cast including R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Akshaye Khanna. Its gripping narrative, high-octane action sequences, and layered storytelling have contributed to its widespread popularity across demographics.

Cultural Phenomenon Beyond the Screen

The viral exam paper is the latest indicator of the film’s deep penetration into popular culture. From box office records to classroom conversations, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has emerged as a talking point across age groups. The franchise’s characters have become household names, with references appearing in everyday discourse, memes, and now even academic settings.

What’s Next

With the film still running in theatres and its box office momentum showing no signs of slowing, the makers are reportedly exploring further expansion of the spy-action universe. Meanwhile, the viral exam paper continues to circulate on social media, with users sharing and commenting on the creative intersection of cinema and education. The incident has also prompted discussions among educators about innovative methods to make learning more engaging for students.

Brent crude surges 44% as stocks plunge and gold dips amid US-Iran conflict

Lead Facts

Brent crude oil has emerged as the top-performing asset since the Iran war erupted, delivering a stunning 44% return. Investors who bet on oil saw gains while Indian stocks shed over 7,200 Sensex points and gold prices tumbled 12%. The conflict, now in its 25th day, has reshaped global markets.

Market Plunge

Indian benchmark indices cratered as war fears gripped traders. The Sensex dropped 9% from 81,287.19 on February 27 to 74,068.45 by March 24. Nifty followed suit, reflecting outflows and economic jitters. Sources in Mumbai's trading floors report panic selling amid supply chain worries.

US Markets Hold

American indices showed grit despite initial dips. The Dow Jones fell 5.6% from 48,977.92 pre-war levels. Nasdaq shed just over 700 points, buoyed by tech firms riding crisis demand. "Resilience defines Wall Street now," a New York analyst told reporters.

Gold's Surprise Fall

Safe-haven precious metals bucked expectations. Per India Bullion and Jewellers Association data, 10 grams of 24-carat gold slipped 11.7% or ₹18,677 to ₹1,40,420 from ₹1,59,097. Silver plunged 14% to ₹2,30,000 per kg. Officials attribute this to dollar strength overshadowing haven appeal.

Oil's Meteoric Rise

Brent crude rocketed from $70 to $101.4 per barrel, a $31 or 44% jump. Geopolitical flare-ups in the Middle East stoked supply fears, propelling prices despite global slowdowns. Traders note Iran's role in Strait of Hormuz tensions as the key driver. Oil has trounced all assets in this period.

Currency Shifts

The US dollar index climbed 2%, drawing safe-haven flows. India's rupee weakened 3% to ₹94 per dollar from ₹91, hit by capital flight. RBI intervened but gains proved fleeting. This dollar surge partly crushed commodity prices, experts say.

LPG Price Hike

Household budgets feel the pinch directly. The Centre raised 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder prices by ₹60 to ₹913 in Delhi, up 7% overall. Commercial 19 kg cylinders jumped ₹114-144 city-wise. Oil's rally directly fuels these hikes despite subsidies.

Investor Lessons

Oil's dominance marks a stark pivot: it yielded the highest returns while stocks turned negative and metals faltered. "Oil is the new gold in this war," quipped a Delhi-based fund manager. Public interest stories like this highlight risks in diversified portfolios amid latest news today.

Road Ahead

Markets eye escalation risks. Will oil sustain gains if supplies stabilize? Regulators urge caution on volatile bets. As India news update unfolds, investors scan for policy buffers against inflation. This trending news India underscores oil's edge in crisis.

Family wiped out in blaze; Bihar man's wife, kids among victims in heartbreaking loss

Indore witnessed a gut-wrenching tragedy when a fire erupted in an electric vehicle, killing eight people, including a Bihar family's wife and two young children. Rajesh Jain, the grieving father left behind, missed his daughter Rashi's plea to join them on the trip. Sources confirmed the incident occurred late Tuesday night near Indore, turning a routine journey into a fatal disaster.

Shocking Incident Details

The blaze broke out around 10 PM on March 17 in an EV near Indore's outskirts. Eight victims perished on the spot, their charred bodies recovered hours later by fire services. Police registered a case, probing the fire's cause—likely a battery malfunction common in EVs.

Ruchika Jain, 35, her daughter Rashi (Class 5), son Tanmay (Class 1), and cousin Kartik (recent Class 10 passout) died alongside Ruchika's father Vijay Jain. Officials rushed the injured to hospitals, but the four core family members could not be saved.

Family's Journey to Indore

Ruchika had traveled from Bihar with her children on March 15 to visit her ailing parents in Indore. Rajesh, unable to join due to work, sent cousin Kartik for safety on the long route. "I thought a young man would protect them," Rajesh told reporters, voice breaking.

They reached Indore that morning and spent the day with grandparents. Plans included holidays before school resumed, but fate struck that evening.

Heartbreaking Last Moments

Rajesh spoke to Ruchika at 8 PM, discussing return tickets. She promised another call at 10 PM—it never came. Rashi had begged earlier, "Papa, you come with us too; we'll go घूमकर and return." Work kept him back; he now regrets it forever.

Next morning, his brother-in-law broke the news. Rajesh rushed from Bihar but arrived too late.

Father's Desperate Rush

He booked flights via Kolkata, landing in Indore at 9:30 PM Wednesday. Last rites had concluded hours earlier. "Bodies were beyond recognition; we couldn't delay cremations," a relative said. Rajesh saw no final glimpse of his loved ones.

Official Probe Underway

Police and fire officials inspected the site Wednesday. "EV battery fires spread fast; we're checking manufacturing defects," a senior officer stated. No arrests yet, but forensic teams analyze wreckage. Authorities urged EV owners to service vehicles regularly.

This marks Indore's second such incident in months, raising safety alarms.

Lasting Family Impact

The loss devastates two families across Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Rashi and Tanmay attended Bal Mandir School; their desks now empty. Rajesh faces life alone, grappling with guilt over not joining them. Community leaders offered condolences and aid.

Road Ahead Uncertain

Investigators expect a report in days, potentially leading to EV safety norms. Families demand compensation; government may step in. For Rajesh, healing seems distant amid this public interest story shaking India news updates.
