FIR registered against Tej Pratap Yadav after brother of Anushka Yadav alleges forced entry, criminal threats and Lawrence Bishnoi name invoked in phone calls.

A first information report has been registered against Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav in Patna following a complaint by Akash Yadav, brother of Anushka Yadav, who has been at the centre of a months-long controversy involving the former Bihar minister. The case alleges forced entry into the family's residence, criminal intimidation, and phone threats — including one in which the caller claimed to represent jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

According to the complaint, the incident at the family's home in Patliputra colony took place on 6 June. Akash alleged that Tej Pratap and his associate Motilal Yadav arrived at the property and attempted to force their way in, threatening family members present at the time. Akash himself was away visiting Khatushyam when the alleged intrusion occurred.

What followed, according to Akash, was a series of threatening phone calls. One caller, who identified himself as Mohit, allegedly told him: "I am Lawrence Bishnoi's man. Think carefully before speaking against Tej Pratap." Akash has claimed that recordings of these calls have been submitted to police as evidence, and that Tej Pratap himself allegedly spoke during one call, suggesting no FIR could be filed against him given his political standing. Motilal Yadav, he claimed, separately warned him to keep the events of 6 June secret.

The path to the FIR was not straightforward. Akash alleged he submitted a written complaint at Patliputra police station as early as 10 June but that no case was registered at the time. He subsequently moved Patna Civil Court on 17 June, after which proceedings began and police registered the FIR. Patna ASP Divyanjali Jaiswal confirmed the complaint had been received and said investigators are now examining voice notes, call records and other material placed on record — including calls allegedly traced to a US-based number.

The controversy involving Tej Pratap and Anushka Yadav stretches back to May 2025, when a post appeared on Tej Pratap's Facebook account claiming the two had been in a relationship for twelve years. The post was deleted soon after, and Tej Pratap maintained his account had been hacked and the photographs doctored. The issue resurfaced sharply in February when Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi posted a congratulatory message on X following the reported birth of Anushka's daughter. Tej Pratap denied paternity at a press conference the same evening.

Since then, the RJD leader has alleged that a group of five individuals — naming Mukesh Roshan, Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, Shakti Singh and Sunil Singh — orchestrated a campaign to defame him by hacking his accounts and circulating manipulated content. He has described the entire episode as a bid to damage his reputation as he works toward establishing his own political platform. In a post on X, Tej Pratap called the FIR a political conspiracy.

He has also announced plans to pursue legal action against those he believes are behind the allegations, drawing a parallel with his father Lalu Prasad Yadav's legal battles. The investigation is ongoing.

Indore Extortion Racket Exposed

Lawrence Gang's 'Corporate' Double-Shooter Tactics Target Builders

Police interrogations have peeled back layers of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang's operations in Indore, revealing a tightly run extortion network that spied even on its own shooters. Key arrests have exposed how Harry Boxer, a shadowy overseas operative, orchestrated threats against prominent builders while demanding crores in cryptocurrency ransoms.

Double Surveillance on Gang Members

Crime Branch sources say Rajpal Chandrawat, recently nabbed in connection with a firing incident, confessed to the gang's paranoia-fueled methods during questioning. Chandrawat revealed that before any hit or reconnaissance, Harry Boxer's team deployed "double shooters"—shadow operatives tailing their own men to prevent betrayal or slip-ups. This fear kept lower-rung criminals in line, with some surrendering to police out of sheer dread, according to initial reports.

The setup was almost corporate in its precision, insiders noted. Encrypted apps like FaceTime and Signal handled all internal chatter, dodging law enforcement surveillance.

Rs 5 Crore Crypto Heist from Builder

A major breakthrough came in the extortion of a city builder, where the gang squeezed nearly Rs 5 crore without direct cash handovers. Funds were funneled via cryptocurrency to Dubai, then routed to Boxer abroad—the builder, spooked by threats to his family, stayed silent and skipped filing a complaint. Police confirmed the victim operated from upscale areas, but details remain guarded to protect ongoing probes.timesofindia.

Chandrawat, acting from jail, coordinated reconnaissance on this target using Dev as contacts, Crime Branch officers added.

Next Target: Racecourse Road Builder

Interrogation transcripts point to Vivek Dammami, a builder on posh Racecourse Road, as the next mark. Gangster Sonu alias Ritesh from Jeetnagar was tasked with full surveillance—photos, locations, family details—all prepped for a firing to enforce compliance. The plan fizzled when police nabbed Ritesh, an associate of Chandrawat, averting the strike.timesofindia.indiatimes+1

Dammami's office got the chilling WhatsApp call around 10:30 am on April 14, with the caller—posing as Harry Boxer—boasting real-time tracking of his son and vowing bullets if Rs 5 crore wasn't paid.

Firing Link to Bio-Cotton Trader

Chandrawat owned up to the firing outside bio-cotton trader Dilip Singh Rathore's home in Kasrawad, Khargone. He'd tipped off the gang about a Rs 50 lakh dispute, triggering a Rs 10 crore extortion demand via voice notes. Sumer Singh Solanki, a close Dev as ally of Chandrawat, is now in custody over this episode.

Rathore was away in Indore during the late-evening shots, but videos of the attack followed, ramping up pressure.

NIA's Prior Shadow

Chandrawat and Yogesh Bhati pop up in NIA files from high-profile cases, including the rocket launcher assault on Punjab Police Intelligence headquarters. The agency had grilled them earlier, linking them to Lawrence's broader terror network.

From Ratlam's Hathnara village, Chandrawat drove for a local leader before running a school that folded in 2021 amid money woes—pushing him into crime.

Business Community on Edge

Indore's builders and traders are rattled, with threats hitting two more businessmen for Rs 10 crore just days after Dammami's scare—property dealer Chetan Singh Panwar and partner Kunwar Singh Bhuria. Crime Branch has ramped up security and formed an SIT, vowing to dismantle the module.

Police hint at GST and RERA data leaks fueling target lists, signaling a tech-savvy upgrade in gang tactics. As probes deepen, expect more arrests—Indore's underbelly is cracking open.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang associate Rajpal surrenders in Madhya Pradesh

High-profile criminal confesses to businessman firing incident; claims links to the 2022 Mohali Intelligence HQ rocket attack.

In a significant development for inter-state crime investigations, Rajpal, a known associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, surrendered to the police in his native village of Ratnyakhedi on Thursday. The surrender follows sustained pressure from multiple law enforcement agencies regarding his alleged involvement in high-stakes criminal conspiracies across northern India.

During his surrender, Rajpal reportedly admitted to orchestrating a firing incident at the residence of a local businessman. While the identity of the target remains under investigation, the accused claimed the attack was a "punitive measure." This surrender marks a breakthrough for the Madhya Pradesh police, who have been monitoring the region for spillover activities of Punjab-based gangs.

Targeted firing in Nagda

Rajpal confessed that the shooting at the businessman’s house was premeditated. He alleged that the target was involved in the exploitation of local farmers and maintained "inappropriate intentions" toward young girls. According to Rajpal, his initial attempts to execute the plan through local associates had failed, leading him to seek professional assistance from another gang member identified as "Harry Boxer."

Mohali rocket attack link

The surrender has reignited interest in the 2022 rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali. Rajpal was previously named as a key suspect in that case. Investigators believe he played a logistical role, specifically in providing a safe haven to the primary accused, Deepak Ranga, during the high-profile manhunt that followed the terror strike.

Allegations of police pressure

Before being taken into custody, Rajpal spoke briefly to the media, stating that his decision to surrender was prompted by the "harassment" of his family by various police departments. He claimed that the constant scrutiny from national agencies and state police forces had made his continued evasion impossible. He alleged that his family members were being targeted despite having no links to his criminal history.

Deep-seated gang networks

Rajpal’s criminal trajectory is closely tied to Yogesh Bhati, another individual previously interrogated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The duo is suspected of facilitating the movement of Lawrence Bishnoi’s shooters across state lines. The NIA had earlier raided several locations in Nagda and surrounding areas to dismantle the sleeper cells providing logistics to the Bishnoi-Brar syndicate.

Warning to rivals

In a defiant tone prior to his arrest, Rajpal issued a warning, suggesting that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang would continue to target those they deemed "wrongdoers." He made the unconventional claim that the gang’s actions were intended to "assist the administration" by cleansing society of corrupt elements, a narrative often pushed by gang associates to gain local sympathy.

Recent security crackdowns

Security agencies view this surrender as part of the larger India news update regarding the crackdown on organized crime. The latest news today suggests that the Nagda police had been coordinating with the Punjab and Haryana police to corner Rajpal. This public interest story highlights the expanding footprint of the Bishnoi gang into the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh.

Judicial proceedings ahead

The Nagda police moved Rajpal to an undisclosed location for initial interrogation immediately after the surrender. He is expected to be produced before a local court on Friday afternoon. Officials have indicated that they will seek maximum remand to investigate his recent communications and uncover any planned operations of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the state.
