A shocking Satna double death case surfaced on Friday after police recovered the bodies of a man and a woman from a locked rented room in Siddharth Nagar area under Kolgawan police station limits in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district. Police suspect the case may involve murder followed by suicide, though investigators are examining all possible angles before drawing conclusions.

Victims Identified

The deceased woman has been identified as 29-year-old Poonam Ahirwar, a resident of Anuppur district. She was working as a Class-1 teacher at a government school in Deolond area near Bansagar. The deceased man was identified as 30-year-old Ambikesh Gautam, a resident of Rewa, who reportedly worked at a Reliance CNG plant located in Sitpura area of Satna.

Woman Found Injured

According to police officials, the woman’s body was found lying on the floor in a blood-soaked condition inside the room. The man’s body was discovered hanging inside the same premises. Investigators suspect that the woman may have been attacked with a sharp-edged weapon before the man allegedly died by suicide. However, police said the suspected weapon used in the incident has not yet been recovered from the room.

Police and Forensic Team Reach Spot

Soon after receiving information, senior police officials and forensic experts reached the scene and collected evidence. CSP DP Singh Chauhan and forensic expert Dr. Mahendra Singh inspected the room and supervised evidence collection. Officials said the woman’s identity was confirmed through Aadhaar and identification cards found at the location.

Brother Discovers Incident

Police stated that Ambikesh’s younger brother, Ankitesh, had been staying in the rented room for the past three years while pursuing engineering studies. According to investigators, Ambikesh had also started living there around two months ago after securing employment in Satna. On Friday evening, Ankitesh reportedly found the room locked from outside. When repeated calls to his brother went unanswered even later at night, he became suspicious and broke the lock. Inside the room, he discovered both bodies and immediately informed the landlord and police.

Woman Arrived Previous Night

A neighbour working in a bank reportedly informed police that Ambikesh had arrived at the room with a woman around 10:30 pm on Thursday night. According to witnesses, both entered the room after opening the door and were not seen leaving afterward. Police suspect that an argument may have broken out between the two later during the night, possibly leading to the fatal incident.

Mystery Deepens Over Travel Plan

During the search operation, investigators recovered a train ticket from Anuppur to Indore from the deceased woman’s belongings. Police are now trying to determine why the teacher travelled to Satna instead of continuing her journey to Indore. Officials are also investigating the nature of the relationship between the two deceased individuals. A woman’s body with a crushed skull and a plastic bottle inserted in her private parts was found near the Mahamaya entrance on Ring Road here early Friday morning. Police have registered a murder case and suspect sexual assault before the killing, as per officials.

Body Found at Meat Shop

The blood-soaked body of a middle-aged woman was discovered inside a roadside meat shop around dawn. Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Agrawal and Additional SP Amolak Singh reached the spot along with forensic and dog squad teams. Officials said the throat was slit with a sharp weapon, and the face was deliberately smashed to hide identity.

Plastic Bottle Recovered

During the initial examination, investigators found a plastic bottle lodged in the woman’s private parts. “Prima facie, this appears to be a murder case. But the presence of the bottle points to a possible sexual assault,” a police source told this English news portal India. The forensic team collected blood samples and other evidence from the crime scene.

CCTV Footage Being Analysed
