A 15-year-old student was killed after a speeding water tanker ran him over in the state capital on Tuesday morning. The incident, which has sparked outrage, occurred near the Saddu school area under the Assembly police station limits.

The victim, identified as Mahavir Sharma, was a resident of LIG Sector-1 in Saddu. He was walking along the roadside with his school bag slung over his shoulder when the tanker hit him from behind. Officials said the driver did not stop and fled the scene immediately after the accident.

CCTV Shows Unbearable Turn of Events

A CCTV camera installed in the vicinity captured the entire sequence. In a turn of events that has left even seasoned investigators shaken, the footage shows Mahavir standing up on his feet moments after the tanker’s rear wheels ran over him.

Sources familiar with the matter said the boy appeared to be in shock, trying to get up, but collapsed again seconds later due to the severity of his internal injuries. He was declared dead by the time locals rushed him to a nearby clinic.

Police Launch Manhunt for Absconding Driver

Police have identified the tanker driver, who remains on the run. Multiple teams have been formed to trace him, and his possible escape routes are being scrutinised.

“We have registered a case of negligent driving and hit-and-run. The vehicle details are with us, and the accused will be arrested soon,” a senior officer said, requesting anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

A Mysterious Bike Rider Enters the Frame

As investigators sifted through more footage from the area, a new detail emerged. A motorcycle rider, whose identity is still unknown, was passing by at the exact moment of the crash.

Initial reports indicate the rider may have swerved slightly, causing the student to step unexpectedly into the path of the tanker. However, police have not ruled out overspeeding by the heavy vehicle as the primary cause. “It is a line of inquiry. The biker was the first person to stop and check on the boy after the accident,” an official added.

Locals Demand Action on Reckless Driving

The morning’s tragedy has brought residents of the Saddu area onto the streets, demanding better traffic regulation. Locals complained that water tankers and heavy vehicles often speed through the narrow arterial roads during peak hours.

“This is not a highway. These vehicles treat every road like a racetrack. How long before another child dies?” asked a neighbour who rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion.

Mahavir was reportedly a student of a local school and the only son of his parents. His body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination late Tuesday evening.

Police continue to analyse additional CCTV footage from nearby commercial establishments. The search for the missing driver is ongoing.

CCTV video from Madhya Pradesh’s historic Achaleshwar Temple shows a priest assaulting a 54-year-old devotee and issuing a chilling tantric threat after a dispute over prasad offering.

Historic Temple in Spotlight

Gwalior’s ancient Achaleshwar Temple has come under scrutiny after a violent clash between a priest and a regular devotee. The episode occurred on March 29 inside the temple premises in the Kampoo police station area.

Long-Time Devotee Assaulted

Rajesh Bohra, 54, a resident of Laxmiganj in Lashkar, has visited Achaleshwar Temple for nearly 40 years. On the day of the incident, he handed prasad to priest Gagan Katara for offering to the deity.

Argument Turns Violent

Bohra objected when the priest threw the prasad onto the idol instead of placing it properly. An argument erupted. Gagan Katara then asked temple staff to take the devotee to the Natraj Bhavan room, saying “sort him out”.

Brutal Beating in Natraj Bhavan

Inside the room, priest Gaurav Katara allegedly slapped Bohra repeatedly, grabbed him by the neck and pushed him hard. The entire sequence was captured on the temple’s CCTV cameras.

Tantric Threat Shocks Victim

Bohra later told police that Gaurav Katara threatened him with the words: “I will perform tantric kriya and turn you into ashes. You will rot and die.” The devotee, who had taken diksha from the same priest earlier, said he and his family now live in fear.

Family Demands Protection

Bohra has demanded immediate security for himself and his relatives. He claims continuous harassment since the incident and fears for his life.

Police Promise Action

Kampoo police CSP Manish Yadav confirmed that no formal complaint has been received so far. “Once the application reaches us, we will investigate. If the allegations are found true, strict legal action will be taken against those involved,” he said. Temple management is yet to issue any statement on the matter.

The video of the Achaleshwar Temple priest assault has now gone viral, triggering widespread anger among devotees across Madhya Pradesh. Many have questioned the behaviour of temple staff and demanded better accountability at religious sites. Such incidents erode public trust in places meant for peace and worship.

Local residents and regular visitors to the temple say they expect swift police intervention. Bohra is preparing to file an official complaint in the coming days. Authorities have assured that the matter will be handled as per law once the complaint is lodged.

This Achaleshwar Temple priest assault has once again highlighted the need for stricter oversight at prominent shrines in the state.
