A grave incident involving the sexual assault of a minor girl has been reported from Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh. Authorities confirmed that five individuals allegedly committed the crime after misleading the victim and taking her to a remote forest area. The incident has prompted swift police action and the registration of a case under stringent laws.

Minor known to victim allegedly lured her

According to police officials, the incident occurred on the night of April 11, 2026. A minor boy, who was already acquainted with the victim, reportedly convinced her to leave her home under the pretext of going out. Trusting him, she accompanied him, unaware of the danger.

Assault in a secluded forest location

The accused allegedly took the victim to a deserted area within the Bhairamgarh police station limits. There, he assaulted her and later contacted four of his associates. These individuals arrived at the location and are accused of sexually assaulting the minor one after another. The isolated nature of the location made it difficult for the victim to seek immediate assistance.

Victim reports incident to family

After the incident, the victim returned home and shared her ordeal with her family members. The following morning, on April 12, she went to the Bhairamgarh police station and lodged a formal complaint. Police took immediate cognizance and registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act along with other relevant sections.

Police arrest four adults, detain one minor

Acting quickly, the police arrested four accused identified as Ankit Parbulia, Laxminath Lekam, Sunil Parbulia, and Jataveda Modiyam. One accused, who is a minor, has been taken into custody separately. All accused are currently being interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation.

Victim undergoing treatment

Following the incident, the victim was admitted to a hospital for medical care. Doctors are monitoring her condition closely, and officials have stated that all necessary support is being provided to her during this difficult time.

Legal proceedings to follow

Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav stated that strict legal action will be ensured. The adult accused will be produced in court and sent to judicial custody, while the minor accused will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. Police are also collecting evidence to strengthen the case and ensure justice is delivered.
