A speeding car went out of control on the Rewa-Sidhi road near Mahsaon radio station early Saturday, around 3 AM, leaving two students seriously injured and a cow dead in a chaotic pre-dawn accident.

The vehicle first ran over a cow standing on the roadside before slamming into a motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction. The collision was severe enough to send the bike's parts flying and throw both riders, who were heading toward Sidhi, several feet away.

Car Crashes Into House After Collision

After the impact, the car did not stop. It careened off the road and crashed through the wall of a mud house belonging to local resident Dinesh Kewat. The wall collapsed entirely, and an e-rickshaw parked inside the house was badly damaged under the debris.

According to locals, Dinesh's family was asleep inside the house when the car tore through the structure. They narrowly escaped injury, with residents calling it a fortunate survival given the force of the crash.

Injured Students Admitted to Hospital

Police rushed the two injured motorcyclists to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa, where treatment is ongoing. Eyewitnesses said the car was travelling at high speed when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.

Villagers Alert Police After Loud Crash

The loud impact and cries for help drew nearby villagers to the spot in the early hours. They quickly alerted police, and teams from Gudh police station along with the Dial 112 unit reached the location soon after.

Car Seized, Case Registered Against Driver

With help from villagers, police ensured the injured were sent to hospital before seizing the car involved in the accident. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver, and further investigation is underway, officials said.

The incident has once again raised concerns among residents about speeding vehicles on the Rewa-Sidhi stretch, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours when visibility is low and traffic enforcement is minimal. Locals are demanding stricter checks and better road safety measures along this route to prevent similar mishaps in the future.

A chaotic Saturday night unfolded in Madhya Pradesh’s capital as a speeding car driven by heavily intoxicated youths caused widespread panic across several neighbourhoods. The vehicle rampaged through a 12-kilometre stretch, hitting pedestrians, handcarts, and two-wheelers, leaving multiple people injured.

The drama, which lasted for over an hour, finally ended after police teams from three different stations coordinated a high-stakes chase to corner the vehicle.

Midnight Birthday Party Turns Chaotic

According to initial reports, the incident began between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM on Saturday. A group of youths, identified as Sarva Dubey, Aditya, Tushar Khare, and Sambhav Jaiswal, had gathered in the Bairagarh area to celebrate a birthday.

Sources familiar with the matter said that after consuming alcohol, the group left the venue in a Toyota Hyryder. While Aditya was initially behind the wheel, control of the vehicle was handed over to Sarva Dubey near the railway station. Local authorities confirmed that the driving became highly erratic immediately after the switch.

12-Kilometre Trail of Destruction

What followed was a trail of destruction that spanned across major parts of the city. Moving at a breakneck speed, the car started ramming into everything in its way, starting near Kirti Medical. The vehicle sped through Ashoka Garden, Ayodhya Nagar, Kolar Road, and the Minal residency area.

Eyewitnesses stated that the driver showed no intent of slowing down, knocking over roadside vendors, stationary handcarts, and multiple two-wheelers. "The car was being driven like a weapon. People were jumping off the road to save themselves," a local resident near Ashoka Garden noted.

Police Constable Hit During Rampage

The situation escalated drastically when the speeding vehicle hit a police constable on duty. The injury to the cop immediately triggered a city-wide alert.

Realising the gravity of the situation, control rooms coordinated a joint operation involving personnel from three local police stations. Patrol vehicles began chasing the luxury SUV, trying to block its potential escape routes through the city's arterial roads. After a tense chase covering nearly 12 kilometers, the police successfully boxed in the car near the Minal area.

Angry Crowd Surrounds Vehicle

As soon as the car was forced to a halt, an angry mob of hundreds of locals and commuters surrounded the vehicle. Having witnessed the reckless driving and injuries caused along the route, the crowd attempted to pull the youths out.

The responding police teams had to form a protective ring to rescue the accused from public fury. Local authorities managed to safely detain two of the youths from the spot, while the remaining occupants reportedly fled into the crowd during the commotion.

Investigation Underway Amid Casualties

The exact number of injured citizens is yet to be officially confirmed, though sources indicate the count is high. The victims were rushed to various hospitals across the Ayodhya Nagar and Ashoka Garden sectors for immediate medical attention. As of late Saturday night, no fatalities had been officially reported.

Bajaria Police Station In-charge, Shilpa Gaur, stated that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. "The sequence of events points to extreme negligence and endangerment of public life. A detailed investigation is underway, and strict legal action will be taken against all the accused involved," she said.

A speeding car ran over three Jain nuns who were walking along a roadside in Rewa, killing two of them on the spot and leaving a third critically injured. The accident, captured on CCTV, has triggered widespread anger within the Jain community, which has called for a nationwide peaceful protest on May 25.

The incident took place in broad daylight outside the collectorate complex. Three sadhvis were practicing vihar — walking barefoot as part of their religious discipline — hugging the left edge of the road. The CCTV video, which surfaced on Saturday, shows an out-of-control white car approaching at high speed and hitting them from behind without any apparent braking.

Two dead, one critical

According to police and eyewitness accounts, Shruti Mati Mata died at the scene. Another, Upasamiti Mata, succumbed to injuries at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa while undergoing treatment. The third nun, Aryika Mata, remains in critical condition.

The accident occurred around midday on May 20. Local residents rushed all three to the hospital immediately, but doctors could not save the first two.

“They were walking peacefully, following all safety norms. The car came from behind at very high speed. There was no time to react,” said a shopkeeper near the collectorate who rushed to the spot after hearing the crash.

Driver arrested 270 km away

The driver, identified as Rashid Abaad Ali Shah, did not stop after mowing down the nuns. Instead, he sped away and continued driving for nearly 270 km. Rewa police tracked his movement and alerted Jabalpur authorities. Bargi police in Jabalpur laid a trap at the Bahoripar toll plaza and took him into custody.

Senior officials including commissioner B.S. Jamod, deputy commissioner Narendra Suryavanshi, and SP Gurukaran Singh visited the hospital and the accident site soon after the incident.

Jain community’s demands

The Jain community has refused to treat the incident as a simple accident. Suspicion of negligence or possible conspiracy is being voiced widely.

Four key demands have been put forward:

First, a high-level judicial inquiry or an SIT probe. Second, preservation of all digital and CCTV evidence. Third, a national-level ‘saint safety policy’ for monks and nuns who travel on foot across the country. Fourth, if the probe confirms conspiracy, the strictest punishment — including the death penalty — for the guilty.

“This is not just about one accident. This is about the safety of India’s spiritual heritage,” a community leader said at a gathering in Rewa.

May 25: nationwide protest, silent rally in Khandwa

In response to the Rewa tragedy, Jain organisations have announced a countrywide peaceful protest on May 25. As part of that, a large silent rally will be taken out in Khandwa starting at 8 am. The rally will begin from Mahaveer Udyaan Kirti Stambh and pass through Ghantaghar, Mumbai Bazaar, and Phool Gali before ending at the police control room.

A memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister will be submitted through the district collector.

Community leaders including Virendra Jain, Sunil Jain, Dilip Pahadia, Sanjay Jain and Vikas Bothra have appealed to all sections of society, especially women, to join the rally in large numbers.

The funeral of one of the deceased nuns was conducted in Rewa on Wednesday, a day before the CCTV footage became public.

Shahdol. Two men, including a local BJP youth front president, were killed late Saturday night after an unidentified speeding vehicle rammed into their bike on the Shahdol-Rewa highway.

The deceased have been identified as Rahul Dwivedi (28), president of the Karki mandal of BJP Yuva Morcha, and his friend Atul Tiwari (30), both residents of Tihki village. Police said the two were returning from a wedding ceremony in Jhiriya village when the collision took place near Jora Pulia around midnight.

Bodies Found at Daybreak

The impact was severe. Both men died on the spot, said officials familiar with the matter. The driver responsible fled the scene along with the vehicle, leaving the overturned bike and the victims lying by the roadside.

For several hours, the bodies remained there. It was only on Sunday morning that passersby spotted the mangled bike and alerted local police. A team from Byohari police station reached the location soon after and began documenting the site.

Political worker, friend remembered

Dwivedi was known as an active face of the BJP in the Karki area. Word of his death spread quickly through the village network. By late morning, a crowd of party workers, local representatives, and villagers had gathered at the district hospital mortuary.

The atmosphere was visibly sombre. Several leaders were seen speaking with the bereaved families, offering what support they could. Tiwari, who worked as a private tutor, was also well-regarded in the locality.

Highway safety concerns resurface

The accident has once again shifted public attention to unchecked speeding on the highway, which cuts through several densely populated stretches near Shahdol’s outer limits. Initial reports from the police suggest the vehicle that hit the bike was likely a truck or a large passenger carrier, though no official confirmation has been made yet.

Authorities have begun scanning CCTV footage from toll points and nearby commercial establishments. “We are checking feed from at least four cameras along the stretch. The vehicle will be identified,” a police source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Rising toll in the district

This is not an isolated incident. According to data collated by local traffic police, at least nine people have lost their lives in separate road accidents across Shahdol district within just the past week. Victims have included pedestrians and, in one case, a child waiting for a school bus.

Locals say poor street lighting on the highway and a lack of speed enforcement have made night travel particularly risky. “No one checks over-speeding after 9 pm. These accidents will keep happening,” said Mahesh Shukla, a resident of Tihki.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC related to causing death by negligence and hit-and-run. Efforts to trace the absconding driver continue.

Post-mortem procedures were conducted Sunday afternoon, after which the bodies were handed over to family members for the last rites. Both villages observed a shutdown-like silence as the funeral processions moved through.

Satna tractor accident leaves 61-year-old with broken ribs after vehicle drags him under its wheels in Sindhi Camp; CCTV captures the horrific sequence as police hunt for the runaway driver.

Chilling CCTV Footage Emerges

A shocking road accident in Satna has once again highlighted the dangers of reckless driving on city roads. On Wednesday afternoon, a speeding and uncontrolled tractor slammed into a motorbike rider, dragging the elderly man along before its wheels ran over him. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, showing the victim helplessly waving for help while trapped.

Locals who gathered at the spot pulled the injured man out from under the tractor. He was immediately rushed to Birla Hospital, where doctors say he is now out of danger despite sustaining serious injuries.

Uncontrolled Vehicle from Front

The accident occurred in the Sindhi Camp area under Kolgaon police station limits. The victim, identified as 61-year-old Rajkaran Kewat, a resident of Gram Mand Mohanna, was riding his Pulsar motorcycle (MP19 MF 1463) when the tractor came hurtling towards him from the opposite direction.

Eyewitnesses said Kewat tried to move his bike to the side upon seeing the approaching tractor lose control. However, the vehicle hit him directly, dragging both the rider and the bike towards a nearby shop's stairs. The tractor's front and rear wheels passed over his chest area before the vehicle finally stopped after colliding with the steps.

Kewat remained pinned between the rear tyre and the concrete stairs for several moments. In the disturbing video, he can be seen desperately gesturing with his hands, appealing to onlookers for immediate help. The tractor driver, instead of stopping to assist, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.

Injuries and Medical Update

Doctors at Birla Hospital confirmed that Rajkaran Kewat suffered multiple rib fractures. He was admitted to the post-operative ward for observation and treatment. Despite the severity of the impact, his condition has been described as stable and out of danger.

Hospital sources said prompt rescue by locals and quick medical attention helped prevent a worse outcome. Family members reached the hospital soon after the incident and are attending to him.

Police Launch Search for Driver

Kolgaon TI Sudip Soni confirmed that a case has been registered and teams are actively searching for the tractor driver. "We are looking for the accused tractor operator. Further legal action will be taken once the medico-legal case (MLC) report is available," the officer stated.

Police are examining the CCTV footage closely to identify the vehicle and its driver. The tractor has been seized from the spot for forensic examination. Authorities have appealed to anyone with additional information about the driver to come forward.

Rising Concern Over Road Safety

This incident comes amid growing worries about road safety in Satna and surrounding areas of Madhya Pradesh. Uncontrolled heavy vehicles, especially tractors used for both agricultural and local transport purposes, have been involved in several accidents in recent times. Residents often complain about speeding drivers and poor enforcement of traffic rules in busy market stretches like Sindhi Camp.

The presence of multiple shops and pedestrian movement in the area makes such stretches particularly vulnerable. Locals expressed anger over the driver's callous act of fleeing, leaving the victim to suffer alone under the vehicle.

What Lies Ahead

As investigations continue, police are expected to trace the tractor's ownership details shortly. The footage, which has started circulating on local social media, is likely to play a key role in identifying and apprehending the accused.

Rajkaran Kewat's family has urged swift justice, hoping the driver is held accountable for the negligent and reckless act that nearly cost an elderly man his life.

The case serves as a grim reminder for authorities to intensify checks on heavy vehicle operators, particularly in urban pockets where two-wheelers and pedestrians share space with tractors and trucks.

A tragic road accident on the Rewa-Sidhi highway claimed one life and left two others critically injured after a speeding trailer hit them late at night.

A festive atmosphere turned into a scene of mourning in the Gurh police station area late last night after a high-speed trailer mowed down three youths standing by the roadside. The incident, which occurred on National Highway 39 near the Mahsaon Chauriyar turn, resulted in the immediate death of a 35-year-old man, while two of his relatives are currently battling for their lives at a state-run hospital.

Midnight horror on NH-39

The accident took place between 2:30 AM and 3:00 AM on Thursday. According to local sources, the victims were standing near their motorcycle by the side of the road, engaged in conversation. A trailer truck, reportedly traveling at a high speed from the Sidhi side, lost control and crashed into them. The impact was so severe that one individual died on the spot due to catastrophic injuries. Taking advantage of the dark and the deserted stretch, the truck driver managed to flee the scene with the vehicle.

Victim identified as wedding guest

The deceased has been identified as Manoj Kol, son of the late Sudama Kol, a resident of Mahsaon Bhaiya Tola. Family members revealed that Manoj had come to Chauriyar turn to attend his brother-in-law's wedding. The accident happened just a short distance from the wedding venue. The injured, identified as Chhote Kol and his brother-in-law, were rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa by locals and police.

Villagers block National Highway

As news of the death spread, a large number of angry villagers and relatives of the deceased gathered at the spot. The protesters placed the body on the road and staged a sit-in, blocking National Highway 39 for nearly two hours. The blockade led to long queues of trucks and passenger vehicles on both sides of the Rewa-Sidhi route.

Massive police deployment at spot

Sensing the gravity of the situation, Gurh Station House Officer (SHO) Shail Yadav reached the location with a police team. Given the rising tension, additional forces from Govindgarh, Saman, Civil Lines, Vishwavidyalaya, and Raipur Karchulian stations were summoned to maintain law and order. The heavy police presence remained on-site until the situation was defused.

Administration promises assistance

Gurh Tehsildar Arun Yadav also reached the protest site to mediate with the grieving family. He assured them of all possible government assistance under prevailing schemes. In a gesture of immediate relief, Mahsaon Sarpanch Abhijit Singh provided Rs 5,000 to the family for the last rites. Following these assurances, the villagers agreed to lift the blockade, allowing traffic to resume.

Manhunt launched for driver

The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. A case has been registered against the unknown trailer driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). "We are scanning CCTV footage from nearby dhabas and toll plazas to identify the offending vehicle. The driver will be arrested soon," a senior police official stated.

A 55-year-old farmer died after his scooter was hit by a speeding unidentified vehicle on Dorar Road in Gwalior's Mohna area early Tuesday morning.

Tragedy on Dorar Road

A festive return turned into a tragedy in the early hours of Tuesday when a 55-year-old farmer was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Gwalior’s Mohna police station jurisdiction. The victim, identified as Gandharv Singh Rawat, a resident of Kaimari, was heading home after attending a relative's wedding when a speeding vehicle rammed into his scooter from behind.

The impact was so severe that the scooter was reduced to a heap of metal, and Rawat was thrown several feet into the air before landing on the asphalt. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM near the Quality Dhaba stretch on Dorar Road.

Driver Flees the Scene

According to local witnesses and initial police findings, the offending vehicle was being driven at a high speed. Immediately after the collision, the driver chose to speed away from the spot rather than providing assistance to the victim.

A police team reached the location shortly after receiving information about a man lying injured on the road. At that time, Rawat was still breathing, showing a faint pulse, prompting an emergency rush to the nearest medical facility.

Died En Route to Hospital

While the police acted swiftly to transport the injured farmer to the hospital, his condition deteriorated rapidly. Medical professionals confirmed that Rawat succumbed to his injuries while in transit. Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors officially declared him brought dead.

The body has since been shifted to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The news of the death has cast a pall of gloom over Kaimari village, where Rawat was a well-known member of the farming community.

Police Launch Search Operation

Mohna Police Station In-charge, Rashid Khan, confirmed that a case has been registered against the unknown driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rash and negligent driving causing death.

"The farmer was returning from a wedding when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle. We are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby dhabas and petrol pumps along the highway to identify the vehicle involved," Khan stated.

Rising Highway Safety Concerns

This latest Gwalior hit-and-run case has once again highlighted the dangers of speeding on the city's outskirts during late-night and early-morning hours. Dorar Road, which connects several rural pockets to the main highway, often sees heavy commercial vehicle movement, leading to frequent accidents involving two-wheelers.

Focus on Offender’s Arrest

The police have formed a small team to track the movement of vehicles passing through the Mohna-Dorar stretch between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM. Authorities are hopeful that a breakthrough will be made soon, as several eyewitnesses at nearby eateries have provided vague descriptions of a heavy vehicle moving erratically around the time of the crash.
