A disturbing incident from Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district has surfaced, where a young man allegedly set himself on fire in the middle of a road. The entire sequence of events was captured on CCTV, raising serious concerns and prompting a detailed police investigation.

According to the footage, the 28-year-old man, identified as Manjeet Jaiswal, was seen purchasing petrol in a container from a local fuel station in his village. He then rode his motorcycle a short distance before stopping by the roadside. Moments later, he poured petrol over himself and ignited it using a matchstick.

Chaos and rescue efforts at the scene

As flames engulfed him, the Young Man ran nearly 20 meters while screaming in pain before collapsing and rolling on the ground in an attempt to extinguish the fire. His cries alerted nearby residents, who rushed to help and managed to put out the flames. Emergency services were immediately informed.

Severe burn injuries and medical treatment

The Young Man sustained approximately 80 percent burn injuries. He was first taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to a specialized burn and trauma center due to his critical condition. Doctors have described his condition as serious, and he remains under intensive medical care.
