Aamir Khan Productions has officially locked May 1, 2026, for Ek Din. The film introduces Junaid Khan, Aamir’s son, as the male lead. Sai Pallavi, known for her organic performances, plays the female protagonist.

Unlike routine romantic musicals, Ek Din uses Japan’s seasonal landscapes as a narrative device. According to a unit hand, the crew filmed in Tokyo, Kyoto, and during the cherry blossom season. The visuals are expected to be a major draw for urban youth.

Aamir Khan’s Role Behind the Scenes

The superstar is not acting in this project. Instead, he has focused on script development and casting. A source told this portal: “Aamir has watched every rushes cut personally. He wants a clean, honest love story without melodrama.”

The makers have kept the storyline under wraps. However, trade circles suggest the film explores how one single day changes two strangers’ lives. The title Ek Din reportedly refers to that critical 24-hour window.

Clash with Raja Shivaji

Releasing on the same day as Riteish Deshmukh’s historical drama, Ek Din targets a completely different audience segment. Multiplexes in metropolitan cities are expected to allocate more screens to this film during evening shows.
