                <title>SSC Hindi Translator 2026 Registration Starts, Women Can Apply Free</title>

The recruitment drive is aimed at filling language translation roles across central government departments and offices, according to officials.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">The online application process is now underway, while candidates will be allowed to make corrections in their submitted forms between May 19 and May 20. SSC Combined Hindi Translator remains a key recruitment route for candidates seeking government language posts and has drawn strong interest in the latest Government Updates.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Posts on Offer</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">The examination covers recruitment for Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) and Senior Hindi Translator (SHT) positions. These posts are offered in ministries, departments and other government institutions where official translation and bilingual drafting work are required.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">For Junior Hindi Translator posts, candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Hindi or English, with the other language as a compulsory subject, along with a diploma in translation and relevant experience. For Senior Hindi Translator posts, candidates need a Master’s degree and at least three years of translation experience.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Eligibility Criteria</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age to be eligible for the examination. Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation as per government norms.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates are eligible for a five-year relaxation, while Other Backward Class candidates can claim a three-year relaxation. Persons with Disabilities are eligible for up to 10 years of age relaxation, as per SSC norms.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Fee and Exemptions</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">The application fee for general category candidates has been fixed at Rs 100. Women candidates, along with SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities applicants, are exempted from paying the application fee.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">The fee exemption for women is expected to improve participation in the SSC Combined Hindi Translator examination, particularly among candidates seeking stable central government employment in language services.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Exam Pattern Released</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">SSC has also notified the examination pattern for the recruitment process. The selection will be conducted in two stages, a written examination followed by document verification.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Paper 1 will be objective in nature and will test candidates on Hindi and English language skills. The paper will carry 200 marks and candidates will get two hours to complete it. A negative marking of one-fourth mark will apply for each wrong answer.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Paper 2 will be descriptive and designed to assess translation and writing ability. According to officials, this stage will test the practical language proficiency required for government translation work.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Syllabus and Cut-Off</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">The syllabus includes General English and General Hindi sections. General English will cover grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, spelling and error recognition. General Hindi will include grammar topics such as compound, sandhi, verb and Adjective, along with Hindi paragraphs, proverbs and antonyms.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">SSC has set minimum qualifying marks at 30 per cent for unreserved candidates, 25 per cent for OBC and EWS candidates, and 20 per cent for other categories.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">How to Apply</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;">Candidates can apply online by visiting ssc.gov.in and completing the registration process through the online application portal. Applicants must fill in personal and academic details, upload required documents, and pay the fee if applicable. A printout of the final submitted form should be kept for future reference.</span></p>
