The wait for lakhs of students in Chhattisgarh will end this afternoon as the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) is set to declare the Class 10 board examination results today at 2:30 PM. State Education Minister Gajendra Yadav confirmed the timing, with results to be announced through a press conference followed by availability on official websites.

Students can check their scorecards on cgbse.nic.in and results.cg.nic.in by entering their roll number. The provisional online marksheet will be released initially, while original documents will be distributed later through respective schools.

Anxious Hours Before Declaration

With just hours left, tension is palpable in homes across Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg and other districts. Many students and parents spent the morning refreshing news updates and discussing possible outcomes with friends. Coaching centres and schools that served as exam centres saw small groups of candidates gathering since morning, exchanging last-minute hopes and nerves.

This year, approximately 3,20,535 students had registered for the High School (Class 10) examinations, which were conducted from February 21 to March 13, 2026, in offline pen-and-paper mode. Each paper carried an extra 15 minutes for reading the question paper.

Slight Dip in Numbers This Year

Compared to 2025, when around 3,23,094 students appeared for the Class 10 exams, the figure has seen a marginal decline this time. Overall, more than 5.65 lakh students had written the 10th and 12th exams combined in the previous cycle. The small reduction in 10th standard registrations has been noted by education officials, though specific reasons are yet to be detailed officially.

Last Year’s Performance Benchmark

In 2025, the CGBSE Class 10 results had brought cheer with a pass percentage of 76.53 per cent — considered one of the better performances in the last four years. Out of 3,23,094 examinees, nearly 2.46 lakh students cleared the exam. Girls had outperformed boys, a trend that many parents and teachers expect could continue.

Joint toppers Ishika Bala and Naman Kumar Khuntia had scored an impressive 99.17 per cent (595 marks), while Livyansh Dewangan secured the second position with 99 per cent. The merit list and district-wise performance had drawn significant attention then, and similar curiosity surrounds this year’s outcome as well.

How to Check CG Board 10th Result 2026

Once declared, students need to visit the official portal, enter their roll number and other details as prompted, and download the scorecard. The board has also made provisions for results through DigiLocker and UMANG app in previous years. Officials have advised candidates to keep their admit cards handy and avoid rushing to the websites immediately after 2:30 PM to prevent server overload.

Focus on Merit, Pass Percentage and Next Steps

Eyes will be on the overall pass percentage, gender-wise performance, and the list of toppers. Districts with traditionally strong academic records such as Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur and Korba are expected to feature prominently once detailed statistics are released.

For students who may not secure the desired marks, the board usually provides options for scrutiny, revaluation, and compartment examinations. Detailed schedules for these are generally announced a few days after the main results.

Broader Significance for Students

The Class 10 result holds crucial importance as it determines stream selection — Science, Commerce or Arts — for higher secondary education. In a state where many students come from rural and semi-urban backgrounds, a good performance often opens doors to better colleges and scholarships.

Local teachers pointed out that consistent preparation despite challenges like varying access to digital resources in different parts of Chhattisgarh has been key. “Students have worked hard under normal circumstances this year,” said one senior educator from a government school in Raipur.

As the clock ticks closer to the afternoon announcement, the mood remains one of cautious optimism mixed with anxiety. Education department officials are expected to share detailed statistics, including division-wise pass percentages and highlights from this year’s evaluation process, during the press conference.

The results mark the culmination of months of preparation and examination for over three lakh young aspirants. Whatever the outcome, it will set the course for their academic journey in the coming years.
