Local residents spotted the body around 6:30 am near the Gerui petrol pump on the Rewa-Sidhi stretch. The woman, believed to be in her early thirties, was lying on the service lane. Bystanders said the spot is not very isolated, but the early hour meant fewer vehicles were passing by.

Officials from the Gudh police station reached the scene after being alerted by passersby.
