A recent press event in Berlin, attended by Pedro Pascal and director Jon Favreau, confirmed that Sigourney Weaver has joined the cast in a "pivotal, high-stakes role." While details of her character remain guarded by Lucasfilm’s security protocols, the film is expected to bridge the gap between the New Republic era and the rise of the First Order. Production has leaned heavily on "The Volume" in Manhattan Beach, but reports indicate a significant increase in location shooting to give the film a "grittier, cinematic scale" compared to its streaming predecessor.
