Deadpoint' Trailer Promises Higher Stakes, Thailand Mountains Set for September 2 Release

The sequel to the vertigo-inducing survival hit moves from a television tower to the treacherous mountains of Thailand, releasing in theaters on September 2.

If the original Fall left your palms sweaty, the sequel is determined to make your fear of heights even worse. Lionsgate has unveiled a new trailer for 'Fall 2: Deadpoint' ahead of its theatrical release on September 2, 2026.

The sequel swaps the dizzying heights of a deserted television tower for the treacherous mountains of Thailand. The official synopsis reads: "Overwhelmed by her sister Hunter's death, Jax (Harriet Slater) connects with Luce (Arsema Thomas), Hunter's fearless friend. To heal, they attempt the infamous plank walk of Mount Kwan in Thailand. After a sudden rockslide leaves them stranded on a fragile plank 3000 feet in the air, Jax must confront her deepest fears and fight for survival to find closure".

Harriet Slater (Outlander: Blood of My Blood) stars alongside Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) and Tom Brittney (Grantchester). The Spierig brothers – Michael and Peter (Predestination, Jigsaw) – direct from a script by Scott Mann (who directed the original) and Jonathan Frank.

The film is rated PG-13 for "strong language, some violent content/bloody images and drug material". The original Fall turned a modest $3 million budget into a $21 million global box office success, largely driven by its intense, minimalist premise. The sequel appears to be expanding the franchise's scope while maintaining the nerve-shredding tension that made the original a streaming sensation.

Lionsgate announces a new Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping, centered on the 50th Games.

The world of Panem is expanding once again. Lionsgate has confirmed that The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will arrive in theaters on November 20, 2026. The film serves as a prequel focusing on the "Second Quarter Quell," the deadliest tournament in the nation's history.

The production has assembled a stellar ensemble cast. Joseph Zada has been cast as a young Haymitch Abernathy, while Mckenna Grace will play Maysilee Donner—the original owner of the Mockingjay pin. In a major casting coup, Jesse Plemons has signed on as a young Plutarch Heavensbee, and Elle Fanning will portray the Capitol's rising stylist, Effie Trinket. Ralph Fiennes is also set to step into the shoes of President Coriolanus Snow, bringing a seasoned gravity to the role previously played by Donald Sutherland.
