Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley lead the gothic thriller The Bride! set for an early 2026 release.

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride! is set to take 2026 by storm with its unique take on the classic horror mythos. Featuring an A-list cast that includes Christian Bale as the Monster and Jessie Buckley in a dual role, the film is currently in post-production with a 2026 release date confirmed by Warner Bros.

The project features Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, and Penelope Cruz in supporting roles. Set in 1930s Chicago, the story follows a lonely Frankenstein’s Monster who seeks out a doctor to create a mate. However, when the "Bride" (Buckley) is brought to life, she develops a fierce independence that sparks a "radical, punk-inspired social movement." Gyllenhaal has reportedly described the film as a cross between a classic Universal Monster movie and a modern gender-subverting romance.
