A dispute over an extra round on a swing ride at the Disneyland fair in Korba turned violent after fair employees allegedly assaulted a couple and their companion. A video of the incident, showing a woman being kicked to the ground, has gone viral, prompting police action.

A late-evening altercation at a local fair in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district has triggered fresh concerns over safety and crowd management after fair employees were caught on camera assaulting visitors, including a woman.

The incident took place at the Disneyland fair being held in the Budhwari area under the Manikpur outpost limits. According to police and local sources, the clash began when a family asked ride operators to allow one more round on a high-speed swing ride.

Dispute Over Extra Ride

Initial reports indicate that a husband and wife, along with another companion, visited the fair on May 7 and boarded one of the major swing rides. After the ride stopped, they allegedly requested the operators to run it for another round at a higher speed.

What began as a verbal exchange soon escalated. Witnesses said employees at the fair entered into an argument with the visitors before physically attacking them in full public view.

A video recorded by someone present at the spot shows multiple men beating two individuals while the woman tries to intervene. In one part of the clip, a fair employee is seen kicking the woman, causing her to fall to the ground.

The footage spread rapidly on social media by Thursday morning, drawing widespread criticism.

Viral Video Sparks Action

After the video surfaced online, Korba police said they took suo motu cognisance of the matter and initiated action on May 8.

According to Manikpur outpost in-charge Parmeshwar Rathore, preventive action was taken against three individuals linked to the fair management.

Police identified them as fair manager Samsuddin Khan, swing ride owner Rahul Kumar Paswan and employee Anand Kumar Paswan. Officials said all three were detained under Section 151 related to preventive action to avoid breach of peace.

Local authorities confirmed that further inquiry is underway based on the viral footage and statements of those involved.

Employees Decline Comment

Despite repeated attempts by local media and officials, employees associated with the fair reportedly refused to comment on the incident.

People present at the fair during the altercation said panic briefly spread in the area as visitors gathered around the ride section after the fight broke out. Some families were also seen leaving the venue shortly after the incident.

The fair has been operational in the Budhwari locality since May 1 and has been drawing large evening crowds, particularly children and families.

Safety Concerns Resurface

The latest controversy has once again put the spotlight on safety arrangements and regulation compliance at the Disneyland fair.

Residents pointed out that questions had earlier been raised over ride safety and management standards at the venue. Officials have also acknowledged that several attractions and food stalls operating inside the fair may not have secured mandatory permissions.

Authorities said a “Maut Ka Kuan” or well-of-death stunt attraction is also being operated at the venue. Food safety officials stated that vendors selling edible items at the fair had allegedly not obtained proper licences.

A food safety officer said inspections would be carried out and action taken if violations are found.

Earlier Death Case Remembered

The fair had previously come under scrutiny two years ago after three traders from Uttar Pradesh died under suspicious circumstances while participating in the event.

According to earlier reports, the three men had reportedly consumed food prepared at their stall before their health deteriorated. They later died after being taken to hospital, with food poisoning suspected as a possible cause at the time.

The deceased were identified as Sohel Khan, Anil Kumar Pandey and Sameer Khan, all of whom had arrived in Korba for business during the fair season.

While the investigation into that case is still pending, locals say repeated incidents linked to the fair have raised serious concerns about oversight and visitor safety.

Police officials said monitoring at the venue has now been intensified following the latest assault case at the Disneyland fair in Korba.
