A birthday celebration in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district turned chaotic after four youths allegedly created a public disturbance while under the influence of alcohol. Police detained the group and initiated preventive action against them for disturbing public order.

The incident took place late on Friday night near Saket Basti in Mahajan Tola, under the jurisdiction of Bichhiya Police Station. According to police, a group of young men had gathered in the area to celebrate a birthday. During the celebration, they allegedly consumed alcohol and began shouting loudly, creating a nuisance in the neighbourhood.

Residents of the locality claimed that the youths not only caused excessive noise but also behaved inappropriately with people nearby, triggering panic and unrest in the area. Concerned over the deteriorating situation, locals immediately informed the police.

Acting on the complaint, a team from Bichhiya Police Station reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The officers detained four youths from the location and escorted them to the police station for further action.

The detained individuals have been identified as Ravinam Saket (22), Rohit Saket (21), Shivam Saket (20), and Ratnesh Saket (24).

Police said preventive proceedings were initiated against the four for allegedly disturbing public peace and creating a law-and-order situation. Such action is generally taken to prevent further breach of peace and maintain public order.

Bichhiya Police Station in-charge Manisha Upadhyay confirmed the incident, stating that the police received information about a group of intoxicated youths creating a disturbance near Mahajan Tola's Saket Basti.

"We immediately dispatched a police team to the spot. Four youths were taken into custody, and preventive action has been taken against them. Strict action will continue against anyone found disturbing public peace," the station in-charge said.

The prompt police response helped restore normalcy in the locality, and no injuries or property damage were reported during the incident.

Authorities have reiterated that strict action will be taken against individuals involved in public disorder, particularly incidents linked to alcohol consumption in residential areas. Police have also urged citizens to report such incidents promptly to help maintain peace and safety in the community.

Witnesses claimed that within minutes both sides gathered outside the marriage hall and started attacking each other in full public view.

Several people allegedly exchanged punches, kicks and blows in the middle of the road, creating a tense atmosphere in the area. Guests attending the wedding ceremony were seen rushing for safety while nearby residents gathered outside after hearing the commotion. The sudden violence led to chaos around the venue, with many people trying to stop the fight while others attempted to move away from the crowd.

Eyewitnesses said the situation remained uncontrolled for several minutes as neither side was willing to back down. Due to the fight taking place on the main road outside the marriage hall, traffic movement in the area was also affected temporarily. Vehicles slowed down and commuters faced inconvenience until police personnel reached the spot and dispersed the crowd.

The incident has drawn particular attention because of its location. Gayatri Hall is situated very close to the Civil Lines police station, and the clash reportedly happened at a distance of nearly 100 metres from the police premises. Local residents expressed surprise that such a violent confrontation could continue openly in a sensitive area despite the nearby police presence.
