The match, which drew massive crowds from Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states, witnessed serious crowd control issues near Gate Number 2 of the stadium. According to eyewitnesses, tensions escalated after several fans claimed they were not allowed to enter the venue despite possessing legitimate tickets.

As frustration grew among the crowd, many people allegedly began pushing against barricades and gates. The situation reportedly turned uncontrollable when sections of the crowd forced their way into the stadium premises by breaking gates and scaling boundary walls.

The excitement among fans remained high even after rain temporarily interrupted activities before the game. Vendors outside the venue continued selling jerseys, flags and cricket merchandise as spectators waited for entry.
