Rameshwar Sharma Qazi Camp Remark Sparks Political Row

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma’s Qazi Camp missile remark in Bhopal triggers a political row, with Congress seeking a response from CM Mohan Yadav.

A statement by BJP Huzur MLA Rameshwar Sharma at a Matki Phod event in Bhopal has triggered a political controversy after he said that a missile fired from Karond Square should land at Qazi Camp. Sharma later clarified that he was referring to a “Qazi Camp” in Islamabad, not the locality in Bhopal.

The remark was made during a public programme at Bhagat Singh Square in Karond on Sunday night, September 6, where Sharma was speaking about nationalism, Hindu unity, terrorism and India’s military capabilities. Videos of the speech subsequently circulated on social media, prompting criticism from opposition leaders.

What Rameshwar Sharma said

While referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, surgical strikes and India’s missile capabilities, Sharma said that a missile could be launched from Karond Square and made to land at Qazi Camp.

The statement immediately drew attention because Qazi Camp is a known locality in Bhopal. According to reports, Sharma soon after the remark clarified that he was not referring to Bhopal’s Qazi Camp but to one in Islamabad.

The MLA also spoke about Pakistan and said that Matki Phod competitions could eventually be held in cities including Lahore, Dhaka and Islamabad. He linked the remarks to his broader message about Hindu unity and a strong national response to terrorism.

MLA’s clarification over ‘Qazi Camp’

As the video began attracting criticism, Sharma clarified that his reference was to Islamabad rather than Bhopal.

The explanation itself has become part of the political dispute. Congress leaders have questioned whether there is a locality called Qazi Camp in Islamabad and have asked Sharma to explain precisely what location he meant.

Several reports have also noted that searches for such a locality in Islamabad have not produced clear confirmation. This remains a point raised by the opposition rather than an independently established fact about Sharma’s intent.

Congress asks CM Mohan Yadav to respond

Congress has demanded that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav clarify the government’s position on the MLA’s remarks and whether any action will be taken.

Congress media coordinator Abbas Hafiz questioned Sharma’s explanation and argued that referring to a locality in Bhopal in connection with a missile strike was inappropriate for a public platform. Congress leaders have also criticised the remarks as potentially inflammatory and sought a response from the state government.

Other Congress leaders have also taken the issue to social media, accusing the BJP MLA of making remarks that could intensify communal tensions. These are political allegations and should not be treated as an official finding against Sharma.

Controversy comes amid Pakistan references

Sharma’s speech included repeated references to Pakistan, terrorism and India’s military strength. He spoke about the possibility of Matki Phod events being organised in Pakistani cities and used the imagery of missiles and bombs while discussing a strong response to terrorism.

The controversy has therefore centred not only on the specific Qazi Camp remark but also on the wider tone of the speech and the subsequent clarification.

No government action confirmed so far

As of September 8, the political debate is focused on the statement, Sharma’s clarification and Congress’ demand for government action. Reports have not established that any final government decision or disciplinary action has been taken against the MLA.

The episode also highlights the sensitivity surrounding statements made by elected representatives at public gatherings, particularly when references to specific localities and violence are involved.

Akhilesh Yadav Questions Ram Temple Funds During CEO Selection

Akhilesh Yadav raises concerns over Ram Temple donations as the Trust meets to decide its first full-time CEO in Ayodhya.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday raised concerns over the management of Ram Temple funds, saying he hoped there would be no theft of “Ram Dhan” as the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust met to discuss the appointment of its first full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Trust meeting in Ayodhya was convened to consider three shortlisted candidates recommended by a search committee for the CEO position. The appointment is expected to bring a more structured administrative framework for the management of the temple complex and related operations.

Akhilesh raises questions over temple funds

Reacting to the Trust meeting, Akhilesh Yadav said that the appointment process should ensure transparency and accountability in the management of donations received for the temple.

He referred to earlier allegations regarding irregularities in temple donations and said that the faith of devotees must be protected. The allegations have been a subject of political debate, with the Trust and other parties responding to claims made by opposition leaders.

Trust moves ahead with CEO selection

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has been working on selecting its first CEO to strengthen administrative operations.

A search committee reviewed applications and shortlisted candidates before submitting recommendations to the Trust. The meeting agenda included consideration of the shortlisted names as well as procedures and responsibilities associated with the CEO post.

The CEO will be responsible for helping manage the growing administrative requirements of the temple, including operational planning and coordination.

Political debate continues

The issue has triggered a political exchange between opposition leaders and supporters of the temple administration.

While Akhilesh Yadav has demanded transparency over donations and management, the Trust has maintained that temple-related affairs are being handled through established procedures.

The appointment of the first CEO is being seen as an important administrative step as the Ram temple complex continues to expand and attract devotees.

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's Remarks on BRS Leaders Over Irrigation Crisis Spark Political Row

A sharp exchange over Telangana's irrigation crisis has turned into a full-blown war of words, after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made a series of inflammatory remarks targeting BRS leaders KT Rama Rao (KTR) and Harish Rao — comments the opposition says crossed a line for someone holding constitutional office.

The controversy began when a journalist asked Reddy how farmers would cope if drought-like conditions persisted and irrigation water remained unavailable for crops. In response, Reddy turned his answer into a direct attack on the BRS leadership, invoking violent imagery about the two leaders and suggesting they bore responsibility for the state's troubles, accusing them of lying to the public. He went on to say the two needed corrective treatment and joked about sending experts to examine them, saying the government would cover the cost.

The underlying dispute centers on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. The BRS has argued that despite drought conditions, sufficient water is available and that the Congress government should release it from the Kannepalli pump house. The state government has countered that it is following recommendations from the National Dam Safety Authority, which has advised against holding water in the barrages over safety concerns. Reddy, defending his government's handling of the issue, said efforts to restore the project were already underway.

BRS MLA T Harish Rao objected strongly to the Chief Minister's language, demanding an unconditional apology. He told reporters he had simply asked the government to release water for farmers' fields, and that Reddy had responded by talking about spilling his blood instead. He questioned whether such language was appropriate from someone holding a constitutional post, and said he was prepared to give his own blood if that was truly the price of getting water to farmers.

BRS working president KTR fired back on X, calling the Chief Minister bloodthirsty and accusing him of having tormented Telangana for six decades. He said his party was willing to make any sacrifice for farmers and repeated the demand that the government release water to the fields. He argued that the BRS was the party that had fought for the state until suffering real losses in the process, and said they remained ready to keep making sacrifices — but that the government needed to address farmers' actual water needs rather than trading accusations.

Neither side has signalled any de-escalation, and with drought conditions persisting and the dam safety recommendations still in place, the underlying irrigation dispute remains unresolved even as the political fallout from Reddy's remarks continues to dominate the conversation.

Rohini Acharya Questions RJD Action Against Spokesperson, Internal Rift Comes to Fore

Patna: Fresh signs of internal discord have surfaced within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) after party leader Rohini Acharya publicly reacted to the expulsion of party spokesperson Harelal Yadav, triggering a new political debate in Bihar.

The controversy erupted after disciplinary action was taken against Harelal Yadav, who was reportedly removed from the party over remarks and activities considered inconsistent with the party's official position. While the RJD leadership has maintained that organizational discipline is paramount, the decision has drawn criticism from within the party ranks.

Rohini Acharya, daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, openly questioned the move and expressed support for the expelled spokesperson. In a strongly worded response, she reportedly said that if expressing certain views amounts to indiscipline, action should first be taken against her.

Her remarks quickly gained political attention, with opposition parties and political observers viewing them as an indication of differences within the party at a crucial time. The development comes as the RJD seeks to strengthen its position in Bihar's evolving political landscape and prepare for future electoral challenges.

Party insiders suggest that the dispute reflects broader conversations within the organization about communication strategy, internal democracy and the handling of dissenting voices. However, senior RJD leaders have largely refrained from commenting publicly on the matter.

The episode has once again highlighted the challenges faced by major political parties in balancing organizational discipline with differing opinions among members. Political analysts note that internal disagreements are not uncommon in large parties, but public expressions of dissent often attract significant attention because they can influence perceptions of unity and leadership control.

Opposition leaders have seized upon the controversy, claiming it exposes divisions within the RJD. Party supporters, on the other hand, argue that debates within political organizations are natural and do not necessarily indicate a deeper crisis.

The RJD leadership has not issued any detailed public response to Rohini Acharya’s remarks so far. Whether the party chooses to address the issue internally or make an official clarification remains to be seen.

The development is significant because Rohini Acharya has emerged as a prominent political voice in recent years, frequently commenting on party affairs and political developments. Her intervention has ensured that what might have remained an internal disciplinary matter has now become a broader political discussion.

As reactions continue from party workers and political rivals, attention is likely to remain on how the RJD leadership responds and whether the controversy has any lasting impact on the party’s internal dynamics.

Sayani Ghosh Incident Triggers Political Row in West Bengal, TMC Alleges Targeted Misconduct

An incident involving Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sayani Ghosh has sparked a fresh political controversy in West Bengal, with party leaders comparing the episode to previous confrontations faced by senior TMC figures, including Mahua Moitra and Abhishek Banerjee.

The controversy emerged after Sayani Ghosh visited Baruipur in her Jadavpur parliamentary constituency following reports related to a 12-year-old girl's case that had drawn local attention. During the visit, tensions reportedly escalated, leading to an altercation that quickly became a subject of political debate.

According to TMC leaders, Ghosh faced hostile behaviour while interacting with local residents and party workers in the area. The ruling party has alleged that the incident was not an isolated event but part of a broader pattern in which opposition supporters target prominent TMC leaders during politically sensitive visits.

The episode immediately triggered reactions across the state's political spectrum. TMC representatives claimed that their leaders have repeatedly been subjected to aggressive conduct while carrying out public engagements, citing earlier incidents involving party MP Mahua Moitra and national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

Party leaders argued that elected representatives should be allowed to meet constituents and assess local situations without facing intimidation or disruption. They maintained that political disagreements should not translate into confrontational behaviour on the ground.

Opposition parties, however, have rejected allegations of any organised misconduct. Their leaders contend that public representatives often face difficult questions from local residents, particularly when visiting areas linked to sensitive issues. They argue that criticism or public protests should not automatically be interpreted as political targeting.

The latest controversy comes at a time when political tensions remain high in West Bengal, where confrontations between rival parties frequently dominate headlines. With elections and local political battles continuing to shape public discourse, even routine constituency visits often acquire wider political significance.

Observers note that incidents involving high-profile leaders tend to attract heightened attention because they reflect the increasingly polarized political environment in the state. The reactions from both sides have once again highlighted deep divisions between the ruling TMC and opposition parties.

While details surrounding the confrontation continue to be debated, the incident has already become part of a larger political narrative being advanced by competing parties. TMC leaders are portraying it as evidence of growing hostility toward their representatives, while opposition figures insist that public accountability and political scrutiny remain legitimate aspects of democratic engagement.

As political reactions continue, the focus is likely to remain on the circumstances that led to the confrontation and whether any official complaints or further action emerge from the episode. For now, the incident has added another layer to West Bengal’s already charged political atmosphere.

Zameer Ahmed Khan’s son, Vijay Ahmed, approached the Supreme Court seeking relief related to provisions of the state's anti-cow slaughter law. The development has triggered a sharp political response, with opposition parties attempting to link the issue to the Congress leadership and its broader political positioning.

The matter has quickly moved beyond the legal arena and entered the political spotlight, creating a potentially uncomfortable situation for the Congress at a time when the party is trying to balance competing social, regional and ideological interests across different states.

According to reports, the petition challenges aspects of the law governing cattle slaughter and related restrictions. While the legal arguments are expected to be examined by the Supreme Court, political opponents have seized on the issue to question the Congress party's stance on cow protection, a subject that has long carried significant political and cultural sensitivity in India.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other critics have frequently accused the Congress of maintaining an ambiguous position on issues linked to religion, tradition and cultural practices. The latest controversy has provided another opportunity for rivals to target the party, particularly in states where cow protection remains an emotionally charged political issue.

For the Congress, the challenge is not merely legal but also political. The party has often sought to project itself as respectful of religious sentiments while simultaneously advocating constitutional rights and individual freedoms. Any controversy involving cow slaughter laws risks placing the party in a difficult position between these competing narratives.

Political observers believe the issue could become particularly sensitive because it comes at a time when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been attempting to broaden the party's appeal among diverse voter groups. In recent years, the Congress has increasingly highlighted cultural and religious outreach efforts while also emphasizing constitutional values and social justice.

The controversy may therefore force party leaders to clarify their position more explicitly if the issue gains wider public attention.

Congress leaders have not uniformly commented on the matter, and there has been no indication that the legal petition reflects the official position of the party. Political analysts point out that individual legal actions by party members or their relatives do not automatically translate into official policy. However, in a highly polarized political environment, such distinctions often become blurred in public discourse.

The issue also highlights the continuing political relevance of cow protection laws across several states. Debates surrounding these laws frequently extend beyond legal interpretation and become intertwined with questions of identity, tradition and electoral strategy.

For the BJP, the controversy presents an opportunity to reinforce its messaging on cultural and religious issues. For the Congress, the task may be to prevent the debate from overshadowing its broader political agenda, particularly as it seeks to focus attention on governance, economic concerns and social welfare issues.

Much will depend on how the legal proceedings evolve and whether the matter continues to generate political momentum in the coming weeks. Opposition parties are likely to keep raising the issue, while Congress leaders may attempt to frame it as a legal matter rather than a reflection of party policy.

As the debate unfolds, the episode underscores how legal disputes involving sensitive social issues can quickly transform into major political challenges, especially when they intersect with questions of ideology and electoral positioning.

Kejriwal Questions Amit Shah Over Ayodhya Visits, Targets BJP Over Ram Temple Politics

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched a fresh political attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), questioning Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his visits to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and accusing the ruling party of using Lord Ram’s name for political gains.

Addressing a press conference and later sharing his remarks on social media, Kejriwal claimed that Amit Shah had not visited the Ram Temple after the consecration ceremony at Ayodhya. He alleged that despite repeatedly referring to Lord Ram and the temple in public speeches, the senior BJP leader had not undertaken a visit to offer prayers at the shrine.

Kejriwal said the issue raised questions about the BJP’s commitment to the values and faith it frequently highlights during elections and political campaigns. According to the AAP chief, religious symbolism should not be used merely as a political tool.

The remarks have added another dimension to the ongoing political contest between the BJP and the AAP, which has intensified ahead of upcoming electoral battles in several states. Religion and faith-based political narratives continue to remain central themes in public discourse, particularly after the construction and inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

During the media interaction, Kejriwal also referred to reports regarding an alleged irregularity involving offerings at the Ram Temple. He said the reports had caused concern among devotees and demanded accountability if any wrongdoing had taken place.

The AAP leader argued that any allegations linked to a major religious institution should be investigated thoroughly and transparently. He maintained that devotees across the country expect complete integrity in the management of religious donations and temple affairs.

Kejriwal further accused the BJP of invoking Lord Ram and Sanatan values during political campaigns while failing to uphold those principles in governance. He alleged that the party’s public messaging and political actions were often disconnected.

In a significant political assertion, Kejriwal described AAP as a party committed to Sanatan values and claimed that his party had worked for religious and cultural causes during its tenure in government. He contrasted this with what he described as the BJP’s “selective use” of religious issues for electoral purposes.

The BJP had not immediately responded to the specific allegations at the time of reporting. The party has consistently maintained that the Ram Temple project reflects the fulfillment of a long-standing cultural and civilizational aspiration of millions of devotees across the country.

The Ram Temple has remained a major political and emotional issue in national politics. Since the consecration ceremony, leaders from different political parties have continued to make visits to Ayodhya, while debates over faith, governance and political messaging have frequently surfaced in public discussions.

Political observers believe that such exchanges are likely to intensify as parties seek to shape narratives around religion, governance and public trust. The latest remarks by Kejriwal indicate that the Ram Temple and related issues may continue to feature prominently in political debates in the months ahead.

With both the BJP and AAP attempting to connect with voters on issues of faith and governance, the controversy has once again brought Ayodhya and the politics surrounding the Ram Temple into the national spotlight.

MP High Court Lifts Stay on Arrest Warrant Against Abhishek Banerjee in Defamation Case

The legal troubles of Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee have intensified after the Madhya Pradesh High Court lifted the interim stay on an arrest warrant issued against him in a defamation case. The court’s decision came after Banerjee’s legal counsel reportedly failed to appear before the court on multiple occasions, resulting in the withdrawal of the temporary relief granted earlier.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday vacated the interim stay on an arrest warrant issued against Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and Member of Parliament Abhishek Banerjee, paving the way for the execution of the warrant issued by the Bhopal MP-MLA Court.

The case stems from an alleged defamatory remark made by Banerjee during an election rally in Kolkata in November 2020. According to the complaint, Banerjee referred to BJP leader Akash Vijayvargiya as a “goon” while addressing a public gathering. Claiming that the statement damaged his reputation, Vijayvargiya filed a defamation complaint before the MP-MLA Court in Bhopal in 2021.

Following the filing of the complaint, judicial proceedings began in the lower court. During the course of the trial, the court directed Banerjee to appear before it. However, after repeated instances of non-appearance, the MP-MLA Court issued an arrest warrant against the TMC leader.

Banerjee subsequently approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court challenging the warrant. In his petition, he argued that he is an elected Member of Parliament and posed no risk of absconding. He also contended that the trial court had not adequately considered his application seeking exemption from personal appearance.

Taking these submissions into account, the High Court had earlier granted interim protection and stayed the execution of the arrest warrant. However, during the latest hearing, the court noted that despite being provided sufficient opportunity, there was no effective representation on behalf of the petitioner.

As a result, the High Court withdrew the interim relief and lifted the stay order. With this development, the arrest warrant issued by the Bhopal MP-MLA Court has become enforceable once again.

Defamation Case Background

The dispute traces back to a political speech delivered during an election campaign in West Bengal. Akash Vijayvargiya, BJP leader and son of senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, alleged that Banerjee’s remarks were defamatory and harmed his public image.

The complaint was filed under relevant provisions dealing with defamation, and the matter has been under judicial consideration for several years.

Legal Implications

Legal experts believe the High Court’s decision does not amount to a finding on the merits of the defamation allegations. Instead, it relates to procedural compliance and Banerjee’s failure to effectively pursue his challenge against the warrant.

With the stay now removed, authorities may proceed in accordance with the directions of the trial court. Banerjee retains the option of seeking further legal remedies before a higher judicial forum.

Cash-for-benefits allegations have triggered political controversy across West Bengal, with local TMC leaders returning money to villagers while fresh questions emerge over irregularities in welfare scheme beneficiary lists.

The controversy surrounding alleged cash-for-benefits collections under government welfare schemes in West Bengal has intensified, with several local leaders linked to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) returning money to beneficiaries amid mounting public pressure and administrative scrutiny.

The issue has surfaced across multiple districts, including Cooch Behar, Murshidabad, Nadia and South 24 Parganas, where residents have accused local political functionaries of demanding money in exchange for facilitating access to housing and welfare scheme benefits.

Money Returned In Villages

In parts of Cooch Behar district, local leaders reportedly began returning money that had allegedly been collected as commission or "cut money" from beneficiaries. In the Ghughumari area, announcements were made through loudspeakers informing residents that the money would be returned.

A similar development was reported from Subhashpally in Mathabhanga, where commission allegedly collected from 14 beneficiaries of a housing scheme was returned. Local residents said the move came after increasing demands for accountability from villagers.

At Fakirer Kuthi under Pachgarh Gram Panchayat, booth president Tapan De reportedly handed back money to several villagers during a public gathering at a local school ground, a development that quickly drew political attention in the district.

Arrest In Murshidabad

The controversy took a more serious turn in Murshidabad district, where police arrested village deputy chief Sirajul Sheikh following complaints from residents of Nutangram.

According to villagers, amounts ranging between ₹5,000 and ₹15,000 were allegedly collected from beneficiaries under the Banglar Awas Yojana. After complaints were lodged, local authorities initiated action, leading to the arrest.

Officials have not publicly disclosed further details regarding the investigation, but the case has added to concerns over the implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.

Namkhana Case Raises Questions

In Namkhana of South 24 Parganas district, money allegedly collected in the name of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was also returned to villagers.

Gram Panchayat member Madhab Chandra Laya claimed he voluntarily returned ₹5,000 each to 45 villagers. He further alleged that the collections were made under political pressure and that senior panchayat functionaries and local leaders were aware of the practice.

No formal police complaint has been filed in connection with the allegations in Namkhana so far.

Irregularities In Lakshmir Bhandar

Separate concerns have emerged from Nadia district regarding the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, a flagship welfare programme intended for women beneficiaries.

Authorities found 173 men listed as beneficiaries in Dhubulia despite the scheme's eligibility criteria. Officials confirmed that funds had been withdrawn through these accounts between February and recent months before the discrepancy was identified.

District Magistrate Srikanta Palli said an inquiry was conducted and the names were subsequently removed from the beneficiary database.

The development has reignited debate over beneficiary verification mechanisms and data monitoring within welfare programmes.

Probe Commission Constituted

Amid the growing controversy, the state government on May 18 constituted an Institutional Commission to investigate allegations relating to cut-money practices, misuse of government funds and financial irregularities.

The commission will be headed by retired judge Bishwajit Basu. State authorities have indicated that citizens will be able to submit complaints directly once the commission becomes fully operational.

Officials believe the mechanism could provide a structured platform for examining grievances linked to welfare schemes and local governance.

Political Sparring Continues

The allegations have triggered sharp exchanges between the TMC and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BJP leaders have accused local TMC functionaries of coercing villagers into making payments to access government benefits. They allege that beneficiaries were warned they could face delays or denial of services if they refused to pay.

The TMC, however, has distanced itself from the allegations. Party leaders in Cooch Behar said the organisation does not support any form of illegal collection and maintained that any individual found guilty would be personally accountable for their actions.

With investigations underway and political scrutiny intensifying, the cash-for-benefits controversy is likely to remain a significant issue in West Bengal's local governance and welfare administration landscape in the coming weeks.

BJP Minister Silawat Fails to Recognize Own MLA in Gaffe

Water Resources Minister Tulsi Silawat landed in an awkward spot Thursday during a press conference here when he failed to identify his own party legislator Chintamani Malviya, calling him part of a Congress internal feud amid sexual harassment allegations.

Local BJP leaders on stage quickly intervened as Silawat dismissed queries on Malviya, the Alot MLA and former MP, confusing him with opposition figures.

Press Meet Turns Tense

The incident unfolded late afternoon in Indore when reporters grilled Silawat on allegations leveled by MP Congress Mahila president Reena Borasi Setia against Malviya. Initial reports indicate Silawat, also the Sagner MLA, snapped that it was "Congress ka aapas ka mamla" – prompting immediate corrections from BJP district chief Shrawan Chawda and others.

He fumbled further, remarking "Aarop sahi honge, tabhi lagaye gaye honge" before flipping to call the claims "bebuniyad" and backing Malviya's Rs 10 crore defamation notice against Borasi. Sources close to the event said the minister appeared rattled, evading direct answers amid flashes from the media scrum.

Core of the Controversy

Borasi, daughter of former Congress MP Premchand Guddu, recently accused Malviya of sexual exploitation of a woman and illegal property occupation – charges that have stirred political circles in Madhya Pradesh. Malviya, a PhD holder and 2014 Ujjain Lok Sabha winner who shifted to Alot assembly in 2023, hit back with the notice demanding proof within seven days or face civil and criminal action.

He has also met the Governor, while a Mahila Congress delegation submitted a memorandum against him earlier this week. Party insiders note Borasi's past loss to Silawat from Sagner adds a layer of rivalry.

Silawat's Flip-Flop Remarks

Transcript snippets from the meet capture the confusion: When pressed on Malviya's notice to Borasi, Silawat queried "Chintamani apna? Kisne kaha?" before conceding a "fair probe" if allegations held water, only to term them false moments later. "Agar kuch galat paya gaya to karwai karenge," he added, drawing murmurs from the podium.

BJP workers later clarified Malviya's long party loyalty, from MP to state vice-president roles. No official damage control from the party yet.

Political Fallout Looms

The gaffe risks embarrassing the ruling BJP ahead of local developments, with opposition quick to dub it a "blunder" on social media. Congress circles see it as validation of their charges, though Malviya maintains the accusations are smears to tarnish his image.facebook+1

Public reaction in Indore and Alot remains muted so far, but women's groups may weigh in. Silawat's office has stayed silent post-event.

What's Next in Row

Malviya's notice deadline nears, potentially escalating to court if unmet. Borasi, appointed Mahila Congress chief late last year, faces pressure to substantiate or retract. A neutral probe, as hinted by Silawat, could clarify amid the BJP internal rift signals.

Observers say the episode underscores frictions in MP BJP ranks, especially with Silawat's own cross-over history from Congress. Further statements expected soon.

Fresh Political Fire Over Residence

The political battle in Delhi intensified on Saturday after the Bharatiya Janata Party released multiple photographs of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s new government bungalow at 95 Lodhi Estate. The BJP called the accommodation a “Sheesh Mahal 2.0”, while the Aam Aadmi Party swiftly rejected the visuals as fabricated and misleading.

‘Sheesh Mahal 2.0’ Allegations Surface

Delhi Minister Pravesh Verma, addressing reporters, alleged that Kejriwal’s “palace of mirrors” mindset had not changed. He claimed that crores of rupees had been spent to turn the state-provided residence into a lavish retreat. “The person who preached simplicity is now indulging in luxury,” Verma said. He added that Kejriwal had long pursued court cases to secure a bungalow, finally moving in on 24 April.

AAP Calls Photos Fake and Malicious

AAP leader Atishi dismissed all six images circulated by the BJP. “These photos are not of Kejriwal’s home. If Rekha Gupta and the LG wish to compare luxury, they should open their residences first. Kejriwal ji will open his home. Then the public will decide,” she said. Atishi accused the BJP of running a disinformation campaign weeks before local body polls.

Pravesh Verma Targets Covid Period Renovations

Verma further alleged that construction at Kejriwal’s previous residence continued even during the Covid crisis. “When Delhi struggled for oxygen and medicines, work on the earlier Sheesh Mahal did not stop for a single day on Kejriwal’s orders,” he claimed. He also alleged that similar luxury accommodations were used by AAP leaders near Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s official residence.

Kejriwal’s Official Allotment Explained

The 95 Lodhi Estate bungalow was allotted to Kejriwal in October last year in his capacity as national president of a recognised political party. Before this, he lived in accommodation assigned to AAP Rajya Sabha member Ashok Mittal. The Delhi High Court had earlier directed the Centre to provide him official housing, following which the Lodhi Estate property was assigned.

A Type-VII Bungalow With Amenities

Spread across approximately 5,000 square feet, the Type-VII bungalow is among the second-highest categories of government housing in Lutyens’ Delhi. Sources indicate the property includes four bedrooms, a hall, dining area, waiting room, office space, two lawns, a garage, and three servant quarters. The central government has not officially commented on the renovation costs.

What Happens Next

AAP has announced it will issue a formal statement with video proof of Kejriwal’s actual residence. The party also threatened legal action against BJP leaders for circulating what it calls “digitally altered images”. Political analysts see the row as a fresh flashpoint ahead of municipal elections, with both sides keen to shape the narrative on ethical governance and public accountability. As per latest news today, the Lieutenant Governor’s office has not intervened in the matter so far.
