Port of Spain: Trinidad and Tobago cricket legends Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine have been honoured with a permanent tribute at Queen’s Park Oval, where the iconic Trini Posse Stand has been renamed the Bravo, Pollard & Narine Stand.The renaming ceremony took place on Monday, August 31, coinciding with Trinidad and Tobago’s 64th Independence Day. All three cricketers were present for the ceremony at the historic Port of Spain venue.The honour recognises the trio's long association with Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC), where all three developed their cricket from a young age before establishing themselves in international and franchise cricket.

From Queen's Park to T20 stardom

Bravo, Pollard and Narine became key figures in the rise of T20 cricket, with their careers spanning the West Indies, the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and several other franchise competitions.Queen's Park Cricket Club described the tribute as recognition of three players who carried the club's name around the world. The club said the newly named stand would also serve as an inspiration for younger cricketers coming through its system.The trio were members of the West Indies team that won the 2012 Men's T20 World Cup. Bravo was also part of the West Indies side that won the title again in 2016.

Bravo reflects on 34 years at Queen's Park

For Bravo, the occasion had a particularly personal significance. He said he joined Queen's Park Cricket Club at the age of eight and spent 34 years associated with the club.Bravo described Queen's Park as the only club he had represented and said the institution had played a major role in his cricketing journey.The all-rounder has built one of the most decorated careers in T20 cricket. He won the CPL five times as a player and remains among the tournament's leading wicket-takers. Earlier this week, the Trinbago Knight Riders also retired Bravo's No. 47 jersey, making him the first player in CPL history to receive that honour.

Pollard and Narine also honoured

Kieron Pollard, another major figure in the global T20 game, was part of West Indies' 2012 T20 World Cup-winning squad and has enjoyed a long career in franchise cricket, including with Mumbai Indians in the IPL and Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL.Pollard thanked Queen's Park and reflected on the work, discipline and support that had helped the three players reach the highest levels of the sportSunil Narine, meanwhile, has become one of the most successful T20 bowlers in the world.
