A major Rewa theft case has created panic in Belwa Paikan village under Mangawan police station area after burglars targeted three houses and one hardware shop during a single night. The incidents have triggered fear among villagers and raised serious concerns regarding police patrolling in the region. Residents woke up to the shocking discovery on Friday morning after the thefts came to light one after another across the village.

Hardware Shop Targeted

According to local information, the accused broke into “Kushwaha Hardware and Seed Store,” owned by Tejbhan Kushwaha, by entering through the tower-side route near the premises. The burglars allegedly stole nearly ₹3 lakh in cash along with gold and silver coins and jewellery worth around ₹6 lakh from the shop. The total estimated loss in the incident has crossed several lakhs, making it one of the biggest recent theft cases in the area.

Theft Discovered in Morning

The incident was discovered when the shop owner arrived in the morning and found the premises ransacked. Household items, storage sections, and lockers were reportedly searched thoroughly by the burglars before fleeing the spot. 

Houses Also Targeted

Apart from the hardware shop, thieves also attempted to break into three nearby houses during the same night. In one of the houses, the accused managed to steal a mobile phone. However, according to preliminary reports, they failed to find valuables in the remaining two houses and escaped without taking any major items.

Villagers Raise Concerns

The repeated incidents of theft have angered local residents, who accused police of failing to maintain effective night patrolling in the area. Villagers claimed that criminal activities have increased in recent months, but security arrangements remain weak. Residents alleged that inadequate police presence at night has emboldened criminals.

Fear Spreads in Village

Following the incidents, fear has spread among families in Belwa Paikan village. Many residents said they now feel unsafe inside their own homes due to rising burglary cases. Some villagers also claimed that suspicious movements had been noticed in the area earlier, but no preventive action was taken.

Police Reach Spot

After receiving information about the thefts, Mangawan police reached the village and inspected all affected locations. Officers collected evidence from the crime scenes and questioned local residents regarding suspicious activities during the night. Police have registered a case against unidentified accused and launched an investigation into the matter.

Investigators are now examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the suspects involved in the Rewa theft case. Police teams are checking possible entry and escape routes used by the burglars. Officials said suspicious movement captured in cameras is being analysed carefully to trace the accused.
