A major stray dog attack in Indore’s Sanwer Road area has left more than 40 people injured, including doctors, nurses, medical students, patients, security guards and pedestrians. The Indore dog bite incident began on Friday morning inside the premises of Arvind Hospital and quickly spread across nearby localities.

According to hospital officials, the stray dog entered from the rear section of the hospital around 8 AM and attacked staff members. The Indore stray dog attack soon escalated as the animal moved across different areas of Sanwer Road and nearby institutions.

The incident has triggered concern across the city, especially due to the high number of victims and the unpredictable movement of the stray animal.

Spread Across Locations

The attacking dog reportedly moved beyond the hospital premises and reached several nearby areas including Rewati Range, Bardari village, LNCT College, Renaissance College and Narsinghpur Muni College.

Officials said that the Indore dog bite incident created fear among residents, students and staff in these areas. Many people have reportedly stopped moving alone, while parents have expressed concern over children’s safety.

CCTV footage of the attack has also surfaced, showing the dog chasing and attacking individuals in different locations.

Municipal Action Begins

Following the incident, Indore Municipal Corporation teams launched a large-scale search operation. On Saturday, two municipal vehicles reached Arvind Hospital and began capturing stray dogs from the surrounding area.

So far, 23 dogs have been caught during the drive. However, the specific dog responsible for injuring more than 40 people remains untraced.

Officials confirmed that the Indore stray dog attack search operation is still ongoing and additional teams may be deployed if required.

Background of Rising Dog Bite Cases

Indore has been witnessing a steady rise in stray dog bite cases over the past few years. According to medical officials at the Hukumchand Polyclinic, around 200 patients visit daily for dog bite treatment.

Doctors said the increasing number of stray dogs in urban and semi-urban areas has become a recurring public health concern. The latest Indore dog bite incident has once again highlighted gaps in animal control management.

Hospital and Victim Response

Arvind Hospital management stated that more than 16 hospital staff members, including doctors, nurses and support staff, were among those injured. Other victims included students and local residents from nearby areas.

All injured individuals were given immediate treatment and anti-rabies vaccination at Arvind Hospital and other medical facilities.

Hospital officials and residents have urged authorities to quickly locate the attacking dog to prevent further incidents.

Official Statement and Search Efforts

Municipal officials said the search operation is ongoing and surveillance teams are actively tracking the movement of suspected stray dogs. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious and report any suspicious stray animal sightings to the control room.

Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage and eyewitness inputs to identify the exact animal responsible for the attacks.

The Indore stray dog attack has raised urgent questions about urban animal management and public safety mechanisms.

Rewa–Charlapalli Summer Special Train: Services Begin from June 8 to Ease Passenger Rush

Rewa–Hyderabad Summer Special Train to Run Between Rewa and Charlapalli, Offering Major Relief to MP, Maharashtra and Telangana Passengers

In a key decision to manage seasonal passenger rush, the South Central Railway has announced a Rewa–Charlapalli summer special train service connecting Madhya Pradesh with Telangana. The Rewa–Charlapalli summer special train will operate from June 8, 2026, helping passengers travelling towards Hyderabad and nearby regions.

According to railway officials, the service has been introduced to address high demand during summer vacations, when long-distance trains on this route usually witness heavy waiting lists.

The Rewa–Charlapalli summer special train is expected to benefit passengers from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana by improving connectivity and reducing ticket shortages.

Train Schedule Details

Officials confirmed that Train No. 02158 (Rewa–Charlapalli Special) will operate every Sunday from June 8 to June 28, 2026. The train will depart from Rewa at 12:30 PM and reach Charlapalli the next day at 2:45 PM.

In return direction, Train No. 02157 (Charlapalli–Rewa Special) will run every Saturday from June 7 to June 29, 2026. It will depart Charlapalli at 5:00 PM and arrive in Rewa at 7:30 PM the following day.

Each service will operate for a total of four trips during the scheduled period. The Rewa–Charlapalli summer special train has been planned specifically to accommodate increased summer travel demand.

Passenger Demand and Background

Railway officials said the route between Rewa and Hyderabad remains one of the busiest long-distance corridors during summer months. A large number of students, working professionals and families travel between these regions for holidays and work-related movement.

The introduction of the Rewa–Charlapalli summer special train is aimed at reducing waiting lists and improving availability of confirmed seats during peak travel season.

Officials noted that demand spikes every year during summer vacations, often leading to overcrowding and limited seat availability on regular trains.

Operational Objective

According to railway sources, the primary objective of the Rewa–Charlapalli summer special train is to provide comfortable and reliable travel options for passengers. The service is designed to reduce congestion on existing routes and ensure better connectivity between central and southern India.

Authorities emphasized that the special train will help streamline passenger flow and reduce pressure on regular long-distance services operating on similar routes.

Passenger Benefits

The new service is expected to significantly benefit passengers from Madhya Pradesh, especially those from Rewa and nearby regions. It will also provide easier access for Maharashtra passengers travelling towards Telangana.

With improved scheduling and additional capacity, the Rewa–Charlapalli summer special train aims to offer a more convenient travel experience during peak season.

Railway officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to improve passenger convenience and strengthen inter-state rail connectivity.
