A major administrative reshuffle in Datia district has led to the transfer of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sunil Kumar Shivhare to the Police Headquarters in Bhopal. He has been appointed as Assistant Inspector General (AIG), according to the Home Department order issued late Friday night.

In his place, 2008 batch IPS officer Manjit Chawla has been appointed as the new ASP of Datia. Chawla has previously served in the district, and his return after nearly seven years is expected to bring familiarity with local law-and-order conditions.

Large-Scale Transfers

Along with the senior-level change, a wide-ranging reshuffle has also been implemented at the district level. Superintendent of Police Mayur Khandelwal issued transfer orders for 111 police personnel, including head constables and constables.

Officials confirmed that personnel have been moved between police stations, while several have been shifted between police lines and field postings. The restructuring aims to streamline operational efficiency and improve policing response across the district.

Administrative Objective

According to sources, the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening law and order management, improving investigation quality, and ensuring better discipline within police stations. Officials believe that long-standing postings often lead to stagnation, and periodic transfers help bring fresh accountability into the system.

The reshuffle is also seen as part of efforts to enhance crime control measures and improve ground-level policing effectiveness in sensitive areas of the district.
