Popular coaching institute founder Khan Sir reached the Patna Civil Court on Saturday amid a high-profile police investigation and ongoing law-and-order tensions in the city. His appearance in court comes after authorities registered an FIR against him under serious criminal provisions, including attempted murder and the Arms Act.

The case has drawn widespread attention after police searches were conducted at his coaching centre following the incident, with security tightened in the area.

Police Action and FIR Details

Police officials have stated that Khan Sir has been booked under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on statements reportedly given by his security personnel. The allegations suggest instructions were given during a confrontation at the coaching centre, which later escalated into firing by guards.

Khan Sir has already been questioned in connection with the case, while his two bodyguards have been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

Authorities have also indicated that anticipatory bail may not be applicable under the charges invoked in the case.

Incident at Coaching Centre

The case originates from an incident reported on the night of June 2, when a clash broke out at Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna. During the confrontation, CCTV footage reportedly captured firing by security personnel, which triggered panic and police intervention.

Following the incident, multiple police teams visited the coaching centre, while students gathered outside in support of the educator, leading to heightened tension in the area.

Students and Security Response

Throughout the night, students remained outside the coaching institute despite repeated appeals from police to disperse. Security forces made announcements urging crowds to maintain order, but supporters continued to stay at the location.

Police have urged students not to be influenced by rumours or provocation as investigations continue into the incident and the sequence of events leading to the firing.

Contradictory Claims and Statements

In earlier statements, Khan Sir had acknowledged the incident, stating that there was a scuffle and that security guards acted in self-defence. He also claimed that police arrived late at the scene, forcing guards to respond during the confrontation.

He further argued that coaching institutions play a role in keeping education affordable and warned that closure of such centres could significantly increase fees in the coaching industry.
