Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday unveiled development projects worth ₹294 crore in Balrampur district, reaffirming the state government's emphasis on infrastructure expansion, welfare delivery and environmental sustainability. Coinciding with World Environment Day, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 75 projects aimed at strengthening roads, irrigation facilities and rural infrastructure. Addressing a public gathering, Yogi Adityanath underlined the importance of water conservation and tree plantation, calling upon citizens to actively participate in protecting the environment. He said Balrampur, once counted among the state's relatively backward districts, is now witnessing rapid development and improved public facilities. The event also showcased welfare initiatives and conservation efforts undertaken in the district, reflecting the government's focus on balanced growth and ecological responsibility.

Before addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reviewed various development initiatives and interacted with officials overseeing welfare and infrastructure projects. Several public representatives and senior officials were also present during the programme.

According to the Chief Minister, the state's development model is focused on ensuring that infrastructure growth and welfare schemes benefit every section of society. He said roads, bridges, irrigation facilities and rural development projects are being implemented to improve connectivity and enhance living standards.

Focus on Infrastructure and Welfare

Yogi Adityanath said government schemes related to free ration distribution, healthcare, education and rural development have contributed to improving the quality of life across Uttar Pradesh. He added that efforts are being made to ensure timely delivery of welfare benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

Highlighting the law and order situation, the Chief Minister said the state has witnessed significant improvements in public safety, creating an atmosphere conducive to investment and development. According to him, enhanced security has strengthened public confidence and facilitated uninterrupted progress.

World Environment Day Initiatives

Marking World Environment Day, the Chief Minister planted Peepal, Banyan and Pakad saplings and stressed the need for preserving ecological balance. He described afforestation and water conservation as essential measures to address environmental challenges.

During his visit, Yogi Adityanath also inspected exhibition stalls set up by various government departments showcasing programmes related to healthcare, women's empowerment, agriculture, renewable energy, skill development and social welfare.

Officials from the Forest Department briefed the Chief Minister about wildlife conservation measures being undertaken in the Sohelwa Wildlife Division. According to officials, recent monitoring has indicated the presence of tigers and several species of vultures in the area. They also highlighted plantation drives and the use of modern technologies, including thermal drones, for wildlife protection.

A presentation during the programme showcased Balrampur's progress in road connectivity, healthcare services, educational infrastructure and basic amenities. Officials said continuous investments in infrastructure and public services have contributed to the district's socio-economic transformation.

With the launch of projects worth ₹294 crore, the Uttar Pradesh government has signalled its intention to pursue a development model that combines economic growth with environmental responsibility. Authorities said further investments in infrastructure and welfare programmes will continue to support long-term growth in Balrampur and other districts of the state.
