The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted conditional permission to the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) to declare the results of the Computer Science Assistant Professor Recruitment Examination-2024.

A division bench comprising Justice Pranay Verma and Justice J.K. Pillai passed the order while hearing petitions challenging certain provisions of the recruitment process. The court directed that the results of the petitioners be kept in sealed covers so that they can be produced before the court if required during further proceedings.

The matter has been scheduled for hearing again after two weeks.

Recruitment Process Under Challenge

The petitions were filed by Harachandi Ahirwar and other candidates from Chhatarpur against recruitment advertisements issued by the Higher Education Department and MPPSC on December 24 and December 30, 2024.

The petitioners questioned the allocation of 25 percent marks for experience and alleged that they had been deprived of reservation-related benefits during the recruitment process.

According to the petition, these provisions affected the fairness of the selection process and warranted judicial intervention.

Earlier Order Allowed Interviews

On March 17, 2026, the High Court had permitted the petitioners, who had qualified in the written examination, to appear for interviews. At the same time, the court had imposed a stay on the declaration of results pending further consideration of the matter.

This interim order had effectively delayed the completion of the recruitment process for the Computer Science Assistant Professor posts.

MPPSC Seeks Completion of Selection Process

During the latest hearing, MPPSC submitted an application before the division bench, stating that the inability to declare results was adversely affecting the recruitment process.

Deputy Advocate General Abhijeet Awasthi represented the state government, while advocate Aditya Pachauri appeared on behalf of MPPSC. After hearing the arguments, the court allowed the commission to proceed with the declaration of results subject to the sealed-cover arrangement for the petitioners.
