Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday underlined his government's zero-tolerance approach towards crime while inaugurating key industrial and housing projects developed by the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA). Addressing a public gathering in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said security is the foremost requirement for development and entrepreneurship, adding that prosperity and good governance cannot be achieved without a secure environment. He stated that since 2017, the state government has consistently pursued a policy of strict action against criminals, which has helped improve the investment climate across Uttar Pradesh. The remarks came as he inaugurated Eastern Uttar Pradesh’s first flatted factory complex and dedicated housing facilities for workers employed in the industrial area.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the state's second Flatted Factory Complex, built in Sector-13 of GIDA at a cost of ₹42.50 crore. The project is aimed at providing ready-to-use industrial spaces to entrepreneurs and small manufacturing units. He also inaugurated an EWS-LIG residential complex designed to provide affordable accommodation for workers associated with industries operating in the GIDA region.

According to officials, the flatted factory model is expected to support micro, small and medium enterprises by reducing infrastructure costs and accelerating production activities. The residential complex has been developed to ensure better living conditions for industrial workers and their families.

Focus on Industrial Growth

During his address, Yogi Adityanath said that investment and employment opportunities increase when industries receive a secure and business-friendly atmosphere. He maintained that improving law and order has played a significant role in attracting investments to Uttar Pradesh over the last several years.

The Chief Minister said the government’s commitment to curbing criminal activities has strengthened confidence among entrepreneurs and encouraged industrial expansion in different regions of the state.

Infrastructure and Employment Push

Officials associated with GIDA said the newly inaugurated facilities are expected to boost manufacturing activities in eastern Uttar Pradesh and generate additional employment opportunities. The flatted factory concept allows multiple industrial units to operate within a single multi-storey complex, helping optimize land use and infrastructure resources.

The worker housing project has been developed under the EWS-LIG category to provide affordable and accessible accommodation close to industrial units, reducing commuting challenges and improving living standards.

Since 2017, the Uttar Pradesh government has focused on strengthening industrial infrastructure alongside reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business. Gorakhpur has emerged as one of the important centres of industrial development in eastern Uttar Pradesh, with GIDA witnessing increasing investment proposals in recent years.

Officials said the newly launched projects are expected to further enhance industrial activity and contribute to employment generation in the region. The government has indicated that similar infrastructure initiatives will continue to be expanded to support manufacturing growth and economic development across the state.
