The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on Saturday declared the KCET Result 2026, ending the anticipation of more than 3.3 lakh candidates who appeared for the state-level entrance examination. The results were announced through a press conference, after which the scorecard link was activated on the official KEA portal. According to officials, Tanisha Karthik emerged as the topper in the engineering stream. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), also known as UGCET, is the primary gateway for admission to engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, veterinary and other professional courses in the state. Candidates can now download their scorecards and check their ranks, which will play a crucial role during the counselling and seat allotment process.

The KCET 2026 examination was conducted in offline mode from April 22 to April 24 across 745 centres in Karnataka. Around 3,30,479 students appeared for the examination, making it one of the largest entrance tests conducted by a state agency.

The results have been prepared based on the final answer key released by KEA in May. Candidates have been advised to keep their scorecards safely for future admission-related procedures.

Top Rank Holders

According to information released during the result announcement, Tanisha Karthik secured the first rank in the engineering stream. KEA is also expected to publish the complete list of top rank holders and stream-wise merit details on its official website.

Officials said that the merit list has been prepared after evaluating objections received against the provisional answer key and incorporating necessary corrections.

Counselling Process Ahead

Following the declaration of the KCET Result 2026, KEA is expected to announce the counselling schedule and detailed admission guidelines in the coming weeks. Qualified candidates will have to participate in the online counselling process, where seats will be allotted based on rank, preferences and reservation categories.

The counselling process will cover admissions to engineering, architecture, pharmacy, agriculture, veterinary science and other undergraduate professional programmes offered by institutions across Karnataka.
