The initiative aims to celebrate India’s deep-rooted oral traditions while connecting them with contemporary global narratives and modern storytelling formats.

According to the organisers, the festival will feature more than 50 curated sessions spread across seven thematic zones, offering immersive experiences for children, youth, professionals, families, and creative practitioners. Thousands of participants are expected to attend the event over three days.

More than a conventional literary gathering, Story Village has been conceptualised as an international cultural experience. The festival will showcase a wide range of storytelling forms, including folk tales, mythology, historical narratives, business and data storytelling, musical and visual narratives, as well as emerging formats such as astronomy-based and artificial intelligence-driven storytelling.

The venue will be divided into seven distinct zones, each designed to offer a unique engagement. The Courtyard will host the inaugural ceremony along with musical and mythological storytelling performances. Story Square (Chaupal) will serve as an open platform for poetry, open-mic sessions, and live music. The Riverside zone will focus on children, featuring interactive storytelling and hands-on workshops.

For young adults and aspiring speakers, the Story Den will host public speaking sessions and TED-style talks. Kahani Talkies will combine film screenings with sessions on astronomy and AI-led narratives. The Tattva zone will cater to professionals, offering workshops on transformational and business storytelling, while Art Grove will present live art, painting, pottery, and experiential creative activities.

Organisers said the larger objective of the festival is to establish Bhopal not only as a national storytelling hub but also as an international creative destination. By blending traditional narratives with contemporary global themes, the festival seeks to create a sustainable cultural platform with long-term impact.

With its scale, diversity, and international participation, Story Village is expected to mark a significant milestone in Bhopal’s cultural calendar and reinforce the city’s growing reputation as a centre for arts, ideas, and creative exchange.
