The Lucknow student protest over alleged paper leaks and delayed recruitment results drew thousands of aspirants as CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke joined the gathering and called for a larger mobilisation in Delhi on June 20.

Lucknow witnessed a major gathering of students and recruitment aspirants on Friday as thousands assembled at Eco Garden to protest against alleged examination irregularities, paper leaks, and delays in recruitment processes. The demonstration gained additional attention after Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived at the venue and addressed the crowd before being escorted away by police.

The Lucknow student protest was primarily led by candidates associated with Uttar Pradesh recruitment examinations, including UPSI and Lekhpal aspirants, who have been demanding transparency and the release of pending scorecards. Protesters raised slogans against paper leaks and called for accountability in the examination system.

Dipke Reaches Protest Site

Dipke arrived in Lucknow during the early hours and reached Eco Garden around 1:30 pm carrying a copy of the Constitution. Security personnel formed a protective cordon around him as he entered the protest venue amid a large gathering of supporters and students.

His arrival drew significant attention, with many participants attempting to take photographs and selfies. Supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party were also seen gathering separately near the venue.

During his address, Dipke described public protest as “one of the greatest acts of patriotism” and urged young people to participate in a proposed demonstration in Delhi on June 20. He maintained that the movement was peaceful and rooted in constitutional rights.

Demands Over Recruitment Exams

The core demands of the protesters centred on alleged paper leaks and delays affecting competitive examinations and recruitment drives in Uttar Pradesh.

Candidates said repeated controversies surrounding examinations have created uncertainty for thousands of aspirants. Many argued that years of preparation are being affected by delays, cancellations and disputes linked to recruitment processes.

Several participants carried placards demanding action against paper leaks and immediate publication of UPSI scorecards. Others sought greater transparency in examination administration and recruitment procedures.

Aspirants who travelled from districts including Prayagraj, Ayodhya and Deoria said they wanted authorities to address long-pending concerns regarding recruitment examinations.

Students Distance Themselves

Even as Dipke addressed the gathering, several student groups publicly distanced themselves from the CJP and its political messaging.

A number of UPSI and Lekhpal candidates stated that their movement was independent and focused solely on recruitment-related demands. Some protesters expressed concern that political involvement could shift attention away from their primary issues.

Representatives associated with student organisations, including NSUI, also said the demonstration was not connected to the Cockroach Janata Party. Protesters repeatedly emphasised that their demands related to examination reforms and recruitment transparency rather than partisan politics.

Heavy Security Deployment

Authorities maintained a strong security presence throughout the day. More than 1,500 personnel from the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and local police were deployed in and around Eco Garden.

Senior officers monitored arrangements, while CCTV surveillance and plain-clothes personnel were used to keep watch on the gathering. Barricades were installed at several points, and police remained on alert to prevent any disruption.

Officials had granted permission for the protest between 10 am and 4 pm, with organisers instructed to ensure that the demonstration remained peaceful.

Separate Groups Emerge

As the day progressed, supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party and recruitment aspirants were seen assembling in separate groups within the protest area.

Despite occasional arguments and tensions among participants representing different organisations, the demonstration remained largely peaceful. Protesters continued raising slogans and pressing their demands regarding examination reforms and recruitment results.

Ground reports from the venue indicated that more than 6,000 people were present at Eco Garden during the peak of the protest.

What Happens Next

The protest highlights growing frustration among recruitment aspirants over examination-related controversies and delays. Organisers and participants indicated that further demonstrations could follow if their demands remain unresolved.

Attention is now likely to shift to the proposed Delhi mobilisation on June 20, which Dipke urged supporters to join. Meanwhile, student groups involved in the Lucknow student protest have reiterated that their focus remains on recruitment transparency, timely results and accountability in examination processes.
