A forest ranger posted in Satna district has come under police investigation after a dispute at a hotel in Rewa's Chorhata area led to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR). The incident, which reportedly occurred at a hotel in the city, drew public attention after videos of the confrontation circulated on social media.

According to police officials, the complaint was filed by the ranger's wife, who alleged that her husband was staying at the hotel with another woman. She claimed that after confronting the two, a heated argument broke out and she was physically assaulted during the altercation.

Chorhata police have registered a case under relevant sections related to assault and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Authorities said the allegations are being examined and statements from those involved are being recorded as part of the inquiry.

Dispute Erupts at Hotel

Police sources said the incident took place at a hotel located within the Chorhata police station limits. The complainant reportedly travelled from Satna after receiving information that her husband was staying at the property.

Upon reaching the hotel, she allegedly confronted her husband and found another woman inside the room. The situation quickly escalated into a verbal dispute, which later turned into a physical altercation.

According to the complaint, the woman sustained injuries during the confrontation. Based on her statement, police registered an FIR and began legal proceedings.

Viral Video Draws Attention

Reports indicate that portions of the incident were recorded on mobile phones and later shared on social media platforms. The videos, which have since circulated widely, show scenes of a heated argument inside and around the hotel premises.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that amid the commotion, the ranger left the hotel and moved toward the bypass area. Some witnesses claimed he later departed the location in a passing truck. However, police have not officially confirmed those details and are verifying all aspects of the incident.

Officials have also not released information regarding the identity of the other woman involved, and no allegations have been established against her at this stage.

Police Investigation Underway

According to Chorhata police station officials, the case currently pertains to allegations of assault made by the complainant. Investigators are reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, to determine the sequence of events.

Police emphasized that the matter remains under investigation and that conclusions will be drawn only after all facts have been verified. No official statement has been issued regarding any departmental action against the ranger.
