A video of a youth performing dangerous bike stunts on National Highway 30 in Rewa district has gone viral on social media, drawing sharp criticism from locals and prompting police action.

The clip, which surfaced on Saturday, shows a young man identified as Vipin riding a sports bike in a reckless manner on the busy highway. At one point, he is seen standing on the moving motorcycle, and at another, he lifts the front wheel off the ground while speeding down the road.

Dangerous Antics on Busy Highway

The stunts were performed on a stretch of NH-30 that witnesses heavy traffic throughout the day, including trucks, cars and other two-wheelers. Local residents expressed concern that a minor miscalculation or loss of balance could have resulted in a serious accident, endangering not just the rider but other commuters as well.

The video shows the youth riding without a helmet and performing stunts as if the highway were an empty stretch, despite the presence of other vehicles in close proximity.

Social Media Fame at What Cost?

According to locals, such stunt riding has become increasingly common in Rewa district. Young men are putting their lives and the lives of others at risk in pursuit of social media popularity, more followers and viral content.

The race for likes, views and online fame is leading to blatant violations of traffic rules, with riders openly flouting safety norms. Riding without helmets, overspeeding and careless driving have become routine challenges to road safety in the area.

A Recurring Problem

This is not the first time such an incident has come to light in Rewa. Earlier, a video of dangerous stunts inside the Mohniya Tunnel had also gone viral, shocking residents and authorities alike. The tunnel, like the highway, is a busy thoroughfare where such stunts pose a significant risk to public safety.

Despite the earlier incident, authorities have been unable to effectively curb such activities.

Police Launch Investigation

Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Mishra confirmed that the matter had come to the notice of police through social media.

"The concerned youth is being identified," Mishra said. "Strict action will be taken against those who violate traffic rules and perform stunts on public roads."

He added that such negligence would not be tolerated and that legal action would be ensured against those endangering public safety.
