A major security lapse at Raipur Railway Station came to light after a video went viral on social media showing an Innova car entering the station premises from the parcel office side, crossing Platform No. 1, and reaching the railway tracks. The incident, which occurred around 1 pm, was caught on camera and quickly circulated online, prompting the Railway Protection Force to act.

In the video, the car is seen moving through the platform area and onto the track, where it appears to get briefly stuck between the rails. A serious accident was narrowly averted — no train was approaching on that track at the time.

The RPF has registered a case against the driver under three sections of the Railway Act: Section 147 for unauthorised entry, Section 154 for endangering the safety of passengers, and Section 159 for illegally driving a vehicle in a restricted area. Action was initiated only after the video surfaced publicly, raising questions about whether the incident would have been acted upon at all had it not been recorded and shared.

The bigger concern now is how a private vehicle managed to enter the station premises, cross an active platform, and reach the tracks without being stopped. Platform No. 1 at Raipur station is among the busiest, and the entry route through the parcel office suggests a gap in vehicle access control that should not exist at a station of this scale.

Railway authorities have not yet issued a formal statement on the security failure. The investigation is ongoing.
