MP CM Mohan Yadav to Review Ministers on 45-Point Performance Report

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav will review ministers using a 45-point performance report to assess departmental work, governance and implementation of schemes.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to begin a comprehensive review of his Cabinet ministers, assessing the performance of their respective departments on a detailed 45-point report card as part of the state government's governance and monitoring exercise.

The review process is aimed at evaluating the progress of flagship schemes, departmental achievements, implementation of government decisions and the delivery of public services. Each minister is expected to present the performance of his or her department before the Chief Minister during one-on-one review meetings.

According to officials, the assessment will cover key governance indicators, including implementation of welfare schemes, budget utilisation, infrastructure projects, administrative efficiency, grievance redressal, revenue generation, and progress on announcements made by the state government. The review is also expected to examine the pace of execution of ongoing development projects across departments.

The performance evaluation forms part of the government's effort to strengthen accountability and ensure that departmental targets are achieved within the prescribed timelines. Officials said the report cards have been prepared using data submitted by departments and feedback received through the administrative machinery.

The Chief Minister is also expected to seek explanations from ministers wherever delays or shortcomings are identified. Departments that have underperformed may be asked to prepare corrective action plans and accelerate pending works.

The review assumes significance as the state government prepares for the next phase of its development agenda and monitors the implementation of major public welfare initiatives. Senior bureaucrats are also likely to participate in the meetings to provide updates on departmental performance and administrative progress.

Government sources said the exercise is intended to improve coordination between ministers and departments while ensuring that benefits of government schemes reach beneficiaries on time. Similar review mechanisms have been undertaken by the state government to monitor implementation and improve governance standards.

Political observers believe the review could influence future administrative decisions, including departmental priorities and performance monitoring. However, the government has maintained that the exercise is a routine governance initiative focused on improving efficiency rather than any immediate political changes.

The Chief Minister is expected to complete the departmental reviews over the coming days before issuing further directions to ministers and officials based on the findings of the assessment.
