The Chhattisgarh government on Thursday issued transfer and posting orders for five Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, making administrative changes across key departments, including school education, technical education, urban development and district administration.

The orders, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), appoint a new Collector for Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM) district while assigning fresh responsibilities to officers in the School Education Department, the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) and the Mahasamund Zila Panchayat.

GPM Gets a New Collector

IAS officer Vijay Dayaram K. (2015 batch) has been appointed as the new Collector of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district.

He replaces Santosh Kumar Devangan (2013 batch), who has been transferred from the Collector's post and appointed as Special Secretary, School Education Department.

Before his new posting, Vijay Dayaram K. was serving as Director of Technical Education, Employment and Training while also holding additional charge of the Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority.

Key Changes in Education Department

As part of the administrative reshuffle, Santosh Kumar Devangan will now oversee important responsibilities in the School Education Department as Special Secretary.

The state government has simultaneously reassigned responsibilities in the technical education sector.

IAS officer Hemant Ramesh Nandanwar (2020 batch) has been appointed Director, Technical Education, Employment and Training. In addition, he has been given the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority, expanding his role in the state's higher education and skill development initiatives.

New CEO for SUDA

The government has also appointed Sumit Agrawal (2021 batch) as the Chief Executive Officer of the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA).

Following his appointment, Rimijius Ekka will be relieved of the additional charge of SUDA. However, he will continue to serve as Director, Urban Administration and Development, retaining his existing responsibilities in the department.

The move is expected to streamline administrative responsibilities within the state's urban development framework.

Mahasamund District Panchayat Gets New CEO

In another appointment, Anupama Anand (2023 batch) has been posted as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zila Panchayat Mahasamund.

She was previously serving as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Revenue), Saraipali in Mahasamund district.

The appointment marks another step in the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen district-level administration by assigning relatively young officers to key development positions.

Routine Administrative Reshuffle

The latest transfers are part of the state government's routine administrative exercise aimed at improving governance and ensuring efficient implementation of departmental programmes.

Such reshuffles are periodically undertaken to enhance administrative coordination, strengthen service delivery and align officer postings with evolving governance priorities.

The newly appointed officers are expected to assume charge of their respective positions shortly following the issuance of the transfer orders.
