When they returned to their residence in Mohar Khar village under Kota police station limits on Friday night, they found the house ransacked.

Upon checking the premises, the family discovered that approximately 12 tolas of gold jewellery, 300 grams of silver ornaments, and ₹1 lakh in cash had been stolen. The total value of the stolen property was estimated to be over ₹15 lakh.

Chandrakant informed Kota Police on Saturday, following which trainee DSP Akash Chaudhary and his team reached the spot to begin the investigation. Police examined CCTV footage from the area and questioned several suspects.

Relative Confesses During Investigation

During questioning, a 20-year-old youth confessed to the theft. Based on his disclosure, police recovered the stolen jewellery and a portion of the cash.

The investigation later revealed that the accused was a close relative of the victim's family. After learning his identity, the family chose not to register a formal FIR.

Chandrakant's father, Krishna Kumar Jaiswal, submitted a written affidavit stating that the family did not wish to proceed with criminal action against the accused.

Theft Planned to Clear Debt

During interrogation, the accused told police that he had fallen into debt and was under constant pressure from creditors demanding repayment.

Unable to repay the loans, he allegedly decided to target the vacant house of his relatives, knowing the family had been away in Raipur for several days.

Jewellery Buried Outside House

After committing the theft, the accused hid the jewellery by burying it in a pit dug in the sand outside his own house.

Acting on his confession, police recovered all the stolen ornaments and the remaining valuables from the location.

Police officials said the case was solved quickly due to prompt investigation, CCTV analysis, and coordinated efforts by trainee DSP Akash Chaudhary and his team.

Although the stolen property has been recovered, the matter has effectively come to a close after the victim's family decided against filing an FIR, citing their family relationship with the accused.
