He is set to headline Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, a film inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The project was earlier known as Battle of Galwan before being retitled. The film is being produced under the Salman Khan Films banner by Salma Khan and directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

The project recently became the subject of online rumours claiming that its certification process had been halted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, Salman Khan Films issued a clarification, stating that such reports were incorrect and that the film had not yet been submitted for certification.

In Matrubhumi, Salman portrays Colonel Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who led Indian troops during the Galwan Valley confrontation and was later honoured for his sacrifice.

The actor is also working on SVC63, an action drama directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film marks Salman’s first on-screen collaboration with actress Nayanthara and is scheduled for release during Eid 2027.
