The action was taken against The Golden Stay, a hotel located near the Muktidham area on Sirgitti Main Road. According to municipal officials, the establishment was functioning without completing the required statutory approvals and permissions mandated for such operations.

The move comes as the civic body continues a wider enforcement drive targeting hotels, lodges and other commercial properties allegedly operating outside the prescribed regulatory framework.

Municipal Commissioner Prakash Kumar Sarve ordered an inspection after repeated complaints were received regarding activities at the property. A team from the corporation subsequently visited the premises to verify compliance with municipal norms and licensing requirements.

During the inspection, officials reportedly found that the hotel was being operated without the necessary approvals. Authorities also examined complaints related to alleged suspicious activities at the location, treating the matter as a serious regulatory concern.

Following the inspection, the municipal team initiated proceedings and sealed the premises with immediate effect.

Officials said documentation connected with the hotel's operation was scrutinised during the investigation. The review reportedly revealed multiple irregularities linked to permissions and operational compliance.

According to information shared by the Municipal Corporation, the building is owned by Shraddheya Gupta. The property had been leased through Yash Brothers to Puran Singh and Nageshwar Yadav for operations associated with OYO accommodation services.

Authorities, however, stressed that the action was taken on the basis of municipal compliance issues and the findings recorded during the inspection process.

The sealing is part of a broader campaign launched by the civic body against unauthorised commercial operations across Bilaspur.

Municipal officials said inspections have been conducted in various parts of the city to identify establishments functioning without valid licences or mandatory clearances. The corporation has already initiated action against several properties during the ongoing drive.

Commissioner Sarve stated that enforcement teams have acted against approximately seven hotels so far for violations related to licensing, permissions or operational norms.

The administration believes stricter monitoring is necessary to ensure compliance with urban regulations and maintain accountability among hospitality establishments operating within municipal limits.

The latest action has also drawn attention to the increasing scrutiny being placed on short-stay accommodation facilities and budget hospitality properties. Local authorities have indicated that hotels and lodges are expected to comply with all municipal, safety and operational requirements before commencing business.

Officials said the enforcement campaign will continue in the coming weeks.
