A delegation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) left Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Friday to meet Union ministers as efforts continued to resolve the ongoing agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak. The meeting comes days after an earlier round of discussions with Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda ended without a breakthrough. While the government has indicated its willingness to engage in dialogue, the CJP has maintained that the protest will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.

Delegation Heads For Talks

The CJP delegation, led by chief spokesperson Saurav Das and national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, departed from Jantar Mantar for discussions with Union ministers.

The latest meeting follows negotiations held on July 20, which, according to the party, did not produce any agreement on its principal demands.

Resignation Demand Repeated

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the agitation would continue until the Union Education Minister steps down.

National spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka also reiterated that the party considers the minister's resignation essential for restoring public confidence in the examination system.

According to Ranka, the Prime Minister's recent announcement of stricter measures against paper leaks reflects growing pressure over the issue but does not address the party's core demand.

Wangchuk Ends Fast

Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike after receiving assurances from government representatives and Members of Parliament from different political parties.

In a statement shared on social media, Wangchuk said he decided to end the fast following prolonged negotiations and concerns that the situation could lead to violence.

He also noted that several MPs had appealed to him to withdraw his protest.

PM Wishes Recovery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Wangchuk a speedy recovery after the activist ended his fast.

In a social media post, the Prime Minister urged Wangchuk to follow medical advice, regain his health and continue his recovery under doctors' supervision.

The message came shortly after the government announced that the Union Cabinet would consider additional measures to strengthen action against examination paper leaks.

Security Measures Continue

Authorities continued to maintain heightened security around Jantar Mantar and central Delhi as demonstrations persisted.

According to officials, 17 Delhi Metro stations remained closed until further notice as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing protests.

Police also continued monitoring the protest sites after reports of barricades being breached during overnight demonstrations.

Issue Remains Unresolved

The alleged NEET paper leak has emerged as a major political issue, prompting protests by students, civil society groups and Opposition parties.

While the Centre has announced plans for stricter legal action against examination fraud and fast-track judicial processes, the protesters continue to seek political accountability alongside institutional reforms.
