Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is not communicating with family members or other individuals for "specific reasons", according to his father-in-law Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, amid continuing tensions in West Asia.

Speaking to Iran's ISNA News Agency, Haddad-Adel said Khamenei has deliberately suspended communication with all parties but did not elaborate on the reasons behind the decision.

"He is not communicating with any party or individual for specific reasons," Haddad-Adel was quoted as saying.

No Details on His Condition

Haddad-Adel also said he was unaware of Mojtaba Khamenei's current condition but expressed hope that the Iranian leader remained in good health.

Drawing comparisons with Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, he described Mojtaba as being "just like his father in every way."

Mojtaba Khamenei assumed Iran's top leadership following the death of Ali Khamenei in a reported US-Israeli airstrike earlier this year. Since taking office, he has made limited public appearances, fuelling speculation over his security arrangements and public engagements.

Regional Tensions Continue

The remarks come as tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel remain high despite earlier diplomatic efforts.

Last month, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding following mediation by Qatar and Pakistan aimed at reducing hostilities. However, the fragile ceasefire deteriorated after renewed exchanges between Iran and the United States earlier this month.

Backs Hezbollah's Resistance

Separately, Mojtaba Khamenei reaffirmed Iran's support for Hezbollah, describing the Lebanese group's resistance against Israel as a symbol of hope for oppressed communities worldwide.

Responding to a message from Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem, Khamenei said there was "no path forward except resistance" against what he described as oppression by the United States and Israel.

He also reiterated that the Islamic Republic considers support for Hezbollah fighters a strategic priority, invoking the legacy of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iran's revolutionary leadership.

The latest developments come as the security situation across West Asia remains volatile, with diplomatic efforts continuing alongside heightened military and political tensions.
