Indian athletes are scheduled to compete in weightlifting, athletics, swimming, para swimming and boxing, with several medal events lined up throughout the day.

The biggest focus will be on the women's weightlifting competition, where Nirupama Devi Seram and Harjinder Kaur will aim to bring home gold medals in their respective categories.

Nirupama Devi Seram will compete in the women's 63kg final, while Harjinder Kaur will take part in the women's 69kg final later in the evening. India has already enjoyed considerable success in weightlifting during the Games, making the duo among the country's leading medal contenders on Day 5.

A total of 27 gold medals will be decided across different sports during the day's competition. Swimming and para swimming account for the highest number of medal events with ten golds, followed by athletics and para athletics with six. Artistic gymnastics will award five gold medals, while weightlifting and lawn bowls, including para events, will each feature three gold medal contests.

India's swimming contingent also faces an important day.

Sajan Prakash will begin his campaign in the men's 50m butterfly heats, while Olympian Srihari Nataraj is scheduled to compete in the men's 100m backstroke heats. In para swimming, Karthik Budigina and Ali Imam will participate in the men's 50m freestyle S13 heats, with qualification for the finals depending on their performances in the preliminary round.

Should they progress, the Indian swimmers will return later in the evening for the medal rounds and semi-finals.

Athletics will feature several Indian competitors aiming to advance through the opening rounds before the evening finals.

Vishal TK and Rajesh Ramesh are set to compete in the men's 400m heats, while Pooja Singh will challenge for a medal in the women's high jump final. Distance runner Gulveer Singh will also be among India's key athletes when he competes in the men's 10,000m final later in the night.

Indian boxing will also remain in focus with multiple quarter-final contests scheduled.

Preeti Pawar will compete in the women's 54kg quarter-final against a boxer from Northern Ireland. Priya Ghanghas will represent India in the women's 60kg quarter-final against Scotland, while Parveen Hooda will face an English opponent in the women's 65kg quarter-final.

In the men's competition, Jadumani Singh will fight in the 55kg quarter-final, followed by Kapil Pokhariya in the men's 90kg quarter-final. Victories in these bouts would guarantee at least bronze medals under boxing competition rules.

India heads into Day 5 after a productive start to the Games, particularly in weightlifting and para athletics, where the contingent has already secured multiple podium finishes. With several experienced competitors and emerging talents in action, officials will hope the country's medal count continues to rise.

Weightlifting once again appears to offer India's strongest chance of adding gold medals, while athletics, swimming and boxing could further strengthen the overall tally if the athletes progress deep into their respective events.

As the Commonwealth Games schedule becomes increasingly packed with medal events, Day 5 is expected to play an important role in determining India's position in the overall standings.
