Dhanush himself has neither announced any intention to enter politics nor responded directly to the latest round of speculation.

This isn't the first time chatter like this has surrounded him. Earlier this year, a photograph of a fan club flag Dhanush appeared alongside sparked rumours that it was a new political party symbol. Director and fan club member Subramaniam Siva pushed back on that claim, saying fans had used the same flag design for nearly 15 years at weddings, ear-piercing ceremonies and film releases, and that some supporters had simply redesigned a smaller version for car displays during this year's fan meeting — a detail he said got misread as a fresh political symbol.

Adding to the backdrop, Dhanush's father, filmmaker Kasthuri Raja, addressed the political question directly in June, saying it would be entirely his son's call: "If he starts a party, he does; if not, he doesn't." He added that his grandsons, too, would have the same right to enter politics if they chose to.

Dhanush remains one of Tamil cinema's most decorated stars, with four National Film Awards to his name — two as an actor and two as a producer — and continues to run his production banner, Wunderbar Films, across a range of active projects.
