In the impact, a nearly seven-foot-long iron pipe from the barricade pierced through the rider’s abdomen, prompting an emergency rescue operation.

The accident occurred on Thursday night on the Sakri-Pendari main road under the Sakri police station limits.

According to police, Priyanshu Gyanik, a resident of Jarhagaon, was returning home from Bilaspur with two friends on a motorcycle when the vehicle reportedly went out of control and rammed into an iron barricade installed along the roadside.

Iron Pipe Pierced Through Rider's Abdomen

The collision was so severe that an iron pipe from the barricade tore through the front portion of the motorcycle before penetrating Priyanshu's abdomen and passing through his body.

The impact also threw the two pillion riders off the motorcycle, leaving them injured.

The injured have been identified as:

Priyanshu Gyanik (critically injured)

Abraham

Vardaan

All three are believed to be students.

Passersby Rush to Help

The accident triggered panic among commuters on the road. Local residents and passersby immediately rushed to the spot and informed the police and emergency services.

A passerby, Gajendra Thakur, alerted the Dial-112 emergency response team, while nearby residents assisted the injured until medical help arrived.

Police personnel and ambulance staff reached the spot shortly afterward. Two injured youths were shifted to a nearby hospital immediately, while Priyanshu, whose injuries were critical, was transported separately by ambulance for advanced medical treatment.

Victim Undergoing Treatment

Priyanshu is currently admitted to Apollo Hospital, where doctors are treating his life-threatening injuries. Hospital authorities have described his condition as critical.

The other two injured youths are also undergoing treatment.

Administration Monitoring the Case

Preliminary findings suggest that the motorcycle was travelling at high speed before the crash. Police are investigating the exact sequence of events and the cause of the accident.

Following information about the incident, Takhatpur SDM Nitin Tiwari directed the local Tehsildar to visit the hospital and monitor the situation. The district administration said it is keeping a close watch on the case.

Police have stated that further investigation is underway, and necessary action will be taken based on the findings.

The CMHO has issued a notice and ordered an inquiry into the alleged medical negligence.

Health authorities in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur have initiated an inquiry after a woman alleged that a surgical thread was left inside her abdomen following a Caesarean delivery at a private nursing home. The complaint has prompted the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) to issue a notice to the hospital management, seeking an explanation over the alleged medical negligence.

The incident involves Pendalwar Nursing Home, where Rekha Suryavanshi, a resident of Bijour (Bahtarai) village, underwent a C-section on June 12. According to her family, she began suffering from severe abdominal pain, vomiting and other complications soon after being discharged from the hospital.

The CMHO has directed the nursing home to submit its response by Thursday while officials examine the allegations.

Family Alleges Negligence After Surgery

In a written complaint submitted to the health department, Rekha's husband, Shakti Lal Suryavanshi, alleged that his wife continued to experience persistent pain following the surgery.

According to the family, they revisited the nursing home after her condition failed to improve. They claimed doctors assured them that the discomfort was a normal post-operative symptom and discharged her without conducting any detailed medical examination.

However, the woman's health reportedly continued to deteriorate over the following days.

Apollo Hospital Examination Revealed Surgical Material

Unable to find relief, the family later shifted Rekha Suryavanshi to Apollo Hospital, where further medical evaluation was carried out.

The complainants alleged that doctors at Apollo Hospital discovered a surgical thread inside her abdomen during examination. She subsequently underwent another surgical procedure to remove the foreign material.

The woman is currently undergoing treatment, while her family has accused the earlier treating hospital of gross medical negligence.

Health Department Seeks Explanation

Taking cognisance of the complaint, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Shubha Garewal issued a notice to Pendalwar Nursing Home and sought a detailed explanation regarding the allegations.

Dr. Garewal said the complaint submitted by the patient's husband demands action against the concerned doctors and the hospital management. The family has also requested suspension or cancellation of the nursing home's licence and sought appropriate compensation for the alleged negligence.

The health department has indicated that further action will be decided after examining the hospital's response and relevant medical records.

Hospital Yet to Respond Publicly

As of now, Pendalwar Nursing Home has not publicly responded to the allegations.

Officials said the inquiry will assess treatment records, operative notes and other medical documents before determining whether any standard medical protocols were violated during the Caesarean procedure.

The findings of the investigation will decide whether disciplinary or legal action is warranted against the hospital or medical professionals involved.

Medical Negligence Cases Under Scrutiny

The latest complaint has once again drawn attention to concerns surrounding patient safety and accountability in private healthcare institutions.

Health experts note that post-operative complications require timely medical evaluation, and any allegation involving retained surgical material is treated seriously during clinical investigations. However, authorities have clarified that conclusions will be drawn only after the inquiry is completed and all evidence is examined.

The case adds to a series of recent complaints involving alleged medical negligence in Bilaspur, prompting renewed calls for stricter monitoring of private healthcare facilities and improved patient safety standards.
