The Raipur Range Police has drawn up a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen crime control, improve investigations and enhance policing across the region. The strategy was discussed during a high-level review meeting chaired by Inspector General (IG) Amresh Mishra on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by all Superintendents of Police (SPs), Additional SPs and gazetted officers from the Raipur Range, where officials reviewed pending criminal cases, cybercrime investigations, financial intelligence, resource management and traffic enforcement.

Focus on Long-Pending Criminal Cases

During the review, the IG directed officers to expedite the investigation and disposal of criminal cases pending for more than one year, including blind murder investigations, chit fund frauds and other serious offences.

Officials were instructed to closely monitor every stage of criminal investigations, including evidence collection, arrests, filing of charge sheets and court proceedings. The IG also stressed the effective implementation of provisions under the country's new criminal laws to ensure faster and stronger prosecution.

Financial Investigation Workshop Held

Alongside the review meeting, a special workshop on financial investigation and resource management was conducted for SPs and gazetted officers.

The training focused on tracing money trails, banking and digital transactions, identifying assets acquired through criminal activities and collecting documentary evidence for prosecution.

Police officials were advised to strengthen financial investigations in NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases and other organised crimes to identify entire criminal networks and facilitate the seizure of illegally acquired assets.

Greater Focus on Cybercrime

The IG directed district police units to improve coordination with the Range Cyber Police Station for the investigation of cyber offences.

He also called for increased use of technology-based policing tools, including CCTV surveillance, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based systems and data-driven traffic management to improve law enforcement and public safety.

Action Against Illegal Activities

The meeting also reviewed action against cattle smuggling, illegal liquor trade and narcotics-related offences.

Officials were instructed to ensure timely confiscation of vehicles used in such crimes in accordance with legal provisions and strengthen enforcement against organised criminal activities.

Improving Police Services

Emphasising professional policing, IG Amresh Mishra urged officers to adopt transformational leadership, technological efficiency, discipline, team motivation and individual accountability in day-to-day policing.

He stressed that the ultimate objective is to deliver more efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly police serviceswhile improving the overall quality of policing across the Raipur Range.

The review meeting forms part of the police department's broader efforts to strengthen law enforcement through better coordination, technology adoption and timely investigation of serious criminal cases.
