A motorcycle rider was critically injured after a pickup vehicle carrying cows rammed into his bike near Keoti Square under the Lalgaon police outpost area in Rewa district on Sunday morning. The driver allegedly attempted to flee the scene after the accident but was chased down and detained by local residents before being handed over to the police.

According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision left the rider with a severe head injury. He was found lying in a pool of blood on the roadside as bystanders rushed to assist him and alerted emergency services.

Locals Prevent Driver's Escape

Residents claimed the pickup driver tried to escape immediately after the accident. However, locals pursued the vehicle, intercepted it, and detained the driver before informing the police and Dial 112 emergency response team.

The prompt action by the public ensured that the accused could not leave the spot before authorities arrived.

Injured Rider Shifted to Hospital

After receiving the information, the Dial 112 team reached the accident site and shifted the injured motorcyclist to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officials said the victim remains in critical condition. No official confirmation regarding his death has been issued so far.

Police Seize Vehicle

Police also reached the scene soon after the incident and seized the pickup vehicle involved in the accident. Officers inspected the site, collected preliminary evidence, and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision.

Traffic movement in the area remained disrupted for some time following the accident before being restored.

Victim Yet to Be Identified

Police said the identity of the injured motorcyclist has not yet been established. Efforts are underway to identify him and inform his family.
