New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has commenced the Round 1 registration process for NEET UG Counselling 2026 from August 5, 2026. Candidates who qualified the NEET UG 2026 examination can now register online through the official MCC website to participate in the admission process for MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses under the All India Quota (AIQ) and other participating institutions.

According to the counselling schedule released by MCC, the registration window will remain open until August 12, 2026. Eligible candidates are advised to complete the registration process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. After registration, applicants will be required to participate in the choice-filling and choice-locking process, which plays a crucial role in seat allotment.

The choice-filling process will begin on August 6 and continue until August 13, 2026. During this period, candidates can select and arrange their preferred medical and dental colleges in order of priority. The choice-locking facility will be available from August 12 to August 13, after which no further modifications will be allowed. MCC has advised candidates to carefully review and lock their choices before the deadline to ensure their preferences are considered during seat allotment.

Following the completion of registration and choice filling, the seat allotment process for Round 1 will be conducted between August 13 and August 16, 2026. The Round 1 seat allotment result is scheduled to be announced on August 17, 2026. Candidates who receive a seat will have to report to their allotted institutions between August 18 and August 22 to complete the admission formalities. The verification of admitted candidates by participating institutes will take place on August 23, 2026.

Only candidates who have successfully qualified the NEET UG 2026 examination are eligible to participate in the counselling process. Admissions will be conducted for seats under the 15% All India Quota, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC institutions, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), and other participating colleges under MCC.

Candidates can complete their registration by following these steps:

1. Visit the official MCC website.
2. Click on the UG Medical Counselling section.
3. Select the Round 1 Registration link.
4. Register using the required credentials.
5. Fill in the application form carefully.
6. Upload the required details and complete the registration.
7. Pay the counselling registration fee online.
8. Submit the application and download the confirmation page for future reference.

Counselling Registration Fee

Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable registration fee along with a refundable security deposit at the time of registration.

For General (UR) and EWS candidates:

• Registration Fee: ₹1,000
• Refundable Security Deposit: ₹10,000

For SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates:

• Registration Fee: ₹500
• Refundable Security Deposit: ₹5,000

Accordingly, a General or EWS candidate applying under eligible institutions will pay ₹11,000, while candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC or PwD categories will pay ₹5,500 during registration.
