Jason Arday, who became the youngest Black professor at the University of Cambridge, has died at the age of 41 at his home in Battersea, South London. His death comes only days after he resigned from the university amid scrutiny over allegations concerning his academic work and appointment.

Arday was found unconscious at his home at around 3pm on Friday. Emergency medical personnel attempted to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have described the death as sudden. Authorities have said that, at this stage, there is no indication that the circumstances are suspicious. Officers remain in contact with Arday’s family as inquiries continue.

Resigned From Cambridge on August 5
