Verification of official documents revealed that the girl is only 17 years old, leading to the exposure of an alleged child marriage and prompting the High Court to order legal action against those responsible.</p>
<p>The incident pertains to the Bahodapur police station area, where the girl's father lodged a missing person complaint on June 12, claiming that his 19-year-old daughter had disappeared from their residence in Sagartal Phase-2. Based on the complaint, police registered a missing report and launched a search operation.</p>
<p>Using surveillance inputs and technical evidence, the police traced the girl to Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) in Uttar Pradesh. She was found in the company of a local youth identified as Kishan Khatik, a resident of Bahodapur. The accused was taken into custody and brought back to Gwalior along with the girl.</p>
<p>The case witnessed a major development during court proceedings when authorities verified the girl's educational records and birth certificate. The documents established that she was only 17 years old, making her a minor under the law. This revelation significantly altered the legal nature of the investigation.</p>
<p>During counselling, the girl reportedly told authorities that her father had arranged her marriage against her wishes while she was still underage. She further stated that she did not want to live with her husband or in-laws, which led her to leave home with her neighbour, Kishan Khatik.</p>
<p>Earlier, the girl's father had approached the High Court by filing a habeas corpus petition, alleging police negligence in tracing his daughter. However, after the girl's recovery and the disclosure regarding her age and alleged child marriage, the court directed Bahodapur police to register an FIR against all those involved in solemnising the child marriage within 15 days.</p>
<p>Police have already registered a case against Kishan Khatik under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was produced before a court and has been sent to judicial custody.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, investigators have widened the scope of the probe. The girl's parents, her alleged husband, in-laws and any other individuals involved in facilitating or conducting the child marriage are now under investigation. Separate criminal proceedings are expected under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.</p>
<p>Bahodapur Station House Officer Alok Parihar confirmed that the recovered girl was found to be a minor based on official documents. He said the investigation had established evidence of child marriage and that further legal action would be taken in compliance with the High Court's directions.</p>
<p>The case has once again highlighted concerns over child marriage and the importance of age verification during police investigations. <p>Police have arrested the owner of a Mercedes car in connection with the suicide of a 25-year-old truck driver who allegedly took his own life after being threatened and assaulted following a road accident on the Jagdalpur-Bijapur National Highway-63.</p>
<p>The accused, identified as <strong>Sagar Hemla</strong>, was arrested after investigators examined eyewitness statements, social media videos recorded by the deceased before his death, and other digital evidence. He has been booked on charges related to criminal intimidation and abetment allegations and was sent to judicial custody after being produced before a court.</p>
<p>The case has drawn widespread attention after the victim's family alleged that the truck driver was subjected to physical assault, intimidation and an alleged demand for <strong>₹1 crore</strong> as compensation following the accident.</p>
<p>According to police, the incident dates back to <strong>June 11</strong>, when a collision took place between a truck and a Mercedes car near <strong>Banjari Ghat</strong> on National Highway-63 in the Gidam police station area. Investigators said that following the accident, the truck driver, <strong>Tamradhwaj Sahu alias Sonu (25)</strong>, was allegedly abused, assaulted and threatened by the Mercedes owner.</p>
<p>Family members have alleged that the accused demanded ₹1 crore for the damage caused to the luxury vehicle and threatened to kill the truck driver and harm his family if the amount was not paid. The alleged harassment reportedly left the young driver mentally distressed.</p>
<p>The following day, Tamradhwaj allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself.</p>
<p>Before taking the extreme step, the victim uploaded multiple videos on his social media accounts, claiming that he had been assaulted and threatened after the accident. In the videos, he reportedly narrated the circumstances that led to his emotional distress.</p>
<p>The victim's uncle, <strong>Hem Singh</strong>, who claims to have witnessed the incident, alleged that he was present with Tamradhwaj during the accident. According to him, the accused physically assaulted the truck driver and demanded ₹1 crore, while also issuing life threats.</p>
<p>Following complaints from the victim's relatives, Gidam police intensified the investigation. Officers visited the accident spot, recorded eyewitness statements and examined digital evidence, including the social media videos, mobile screenshots and other electronic records.</p>
<p>Based on the available evidence collected during the investigation, police arrested Sagar Hemla, a resident of <strong>Gangaloor in Bijapur district</strong>. He was later produced before a local court, which remanded him to judicial custody.</p>
<p>The case has also sparked controversy after the victim's family alleged that two of the eight videos uploaded by Tamradhwaj before his death went missing during the investigation. The family has demanded a fair and transparent probe into the matter and urged authorities to recover all digital evidence.</p>
<p>Responding to the developments, <strong>SDOP Govind Singh Diwan</strong> said the accused has been booked under relevant provisions of the <strong>Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)</strong>. He added that the investigation remains ongoing and further legal action will depend on the evidence that emerges during the course of the probe.</p>

The mother of one of the accused, Lucky Yadav, has approached the city's Police Commissioner, alleging that her sons were assaulted not only during the incident but also inside the police station in the presence of police personnel.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The complaint has prompted Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar to order an inquiry into the allegations. He stated that if the accusations are found to be true, appropriate legal action will also be taken against the other side.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The incident occurred outside the MLA Rest House in the Arera Hills area and initially led to a case being registered on the complaint of Deoraj Singh Gurjar, son of Congress MLA Dinesh Gurjar. Police had booked the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following his complaint.</p>
<p dir="ltr">However, the accused's family has now questioned the police investigation, claiming their version of events was ignored.</p>
<p dir="ltr">According to the complaint submitted to the Police Commissioner, Lucky Yadav's mother alleged that Deoraj Gurjar and his associates first assaulted her sons near the MLA Rest House. She further claimed that after they were taken to Arera Hills police station, they were again beaten inside the premises while police personnel allegedly failed to intervene.</p>
<p dir="ltr">She alleged that one of her sons was severely injured during the incident and had to be admitted to hospital. The complaint further states that despite visible injuries on both sons, police allegedly did not register their complaint because of pressure from influential individuals.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Seeking a fair investigation, she requested action against those allegedly responsible for assaulting her sons.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Taking note of the allegations, Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar directed officials to conduct an impartial inquiry. He said that if the investigation establishes the allegations made by the accused's family, legal action would also be initiated against Deoraj Gurjar and others involved, in accordance with the law.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Meanwhile, Deoraj Singh Gurjar has reiterated his earlier version of the incident.</p>
<p dir="ltr">According to Deoraj, the incident took place around 12:30 am on June 24 while he was walking on the balcony of his residence at the MLA Rest House in Malviya Nagar. He alleged that four men were consuming alcohol outside the premises. When he asked them to leave, they allegedly began abusing him verbally.</p>
<p dir="ltr">He further claimed that the four men entered the staircase leading to the residence and demanded money to purchase more alcohol. When he refused, they allegedly assaulted him and attempted to snatch his belongings.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Deoraj said his friends, identified as Harsh, Maan, and Saurabh Bakoria, rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion and intervened to rescue him. He alleged that the accused left after issuing threats and identifying themselves as Vicky, Pankaj, Mayank, and Soh, warning him to "remember their names."</p>
<p dir="ltr">Following the incident, Deoraj underwent a medical examination at JP Hospital before lodging a complaint at Arera Hills police station, based on which an FIR was registered against the accused.</p>
<p dir="ltr">With both sides now making serious allegations against each other, the police inquiry is expected to determine the sequence of events and examine whether any misconduct occurred during police custody.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Officials have maintained that the investigation will consider evidence and statements from all parties before any further legal action is taken.</p>

Another buyer, Amita Sharma, said she saw the benefits of drinking water from matkas on an Instagram reel and decided to buy one, adding that elders in the family do suggest drinking matka water to stay hydrated and maintain gut health.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Rekha, who runs an earthenware shop in the city, said clay pots sell in large numbers every summer. "Prices start from ₹100 and increase according to size and design. Customers especially prefer matkas fitted with taps. Some customers prefer painted matkas," she said. She added that people are now becoming more conscious about the health benefits of traditional products.</p>
