China and Turkey complete a 60-hour military airlift to Pakistan as India moves to lock down its ₹80,000 crore Project-18 naval destroyer program.

A sharp escalation in foreign military air transport into Pakistan has put Indian security agencies on high alert, even as New Delhi accelerates major capital defense acquisitions and indigenous warship production. Over a continuous 60-hour window, heavy transport aircraft from China and Turkey conducted multiple flights landing at key Pakistani airbases, including Nur Khan Airbase near Rawalpindi and Masroor Airbase in Karachi. The airlift, reportedly carrying drones, radar systems, and advanced military hardware, comes amid concerns over Islamabad restocking its defense inventory.

In response to shifting regional dynamics, the Indian Navy is advancing its ₹80,000 crore Project-18 Next-Generation Destroyer (NGD) programme. Designed to replace aging surface combatants, the upcoming class of 10,000-tonne stealth destroyers will feature over 100 vertical launch missile cells, advanced AESA radars, and integrated electric propulsion to strengthen India's blue-water presence across the Indo-Pacific. Concurrently, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is opening tactical missile production lines to private Indian defense firms to scale up manufacturing capacity.

Beyond naval expansion, India is deepening strategic partnerships to secure advanced aerospace and maritime capabilities. New Delhi is pursuing participation in France’s sixth-generation fighter jet initiative to ensure future air dominance, while simultaneously enhancing maritime security cooperation and tactical operational ties with Japan.
